Most all items are used in production skills. Under the alchemy tab in your skills menu. You will need to pick 2 skills and purchase/learn them before You will know which materials will you need. ex: hp potion production needs tough meats and magic crystals... Hope this helps. The site trebori posted is helpful... But last time I was there I couldn't find much about potion production... may have been updated since tho...
