Thats ridiculous sorry but if 80% of the ppl got their name changed.Then there will confused all over.Like u HAVE to introduce to each and one of ur friend whom u previously are and so does a thousands of other players saying the same over things like "Hey this is Jerry my new name is ____" so yea there will be alot of players saying that SAME line over and over and over so yea its a pAIN in the neck when u think about it =]

Heres my opinion:
Probably not because-
1. It confuses friends, they might wonder who it is, and might delete you off friends list. Same goes for guilds.

2. Its permanent... i guess you'd have to pay a lot for it

3. It will confuse staff, especially when it comes to situations when they have to whisper you.

Well.. for #1, you would tell your more important friends and obviously your guildmates. That's just called "planning" and anyone with half a brain would do it.

#2, there's already a few perm. items. And yes, they're expensive. It only begs to reason that a name-change would, too. But in my experience it seems to take Staff involvement to have your name changed. I'm not sure if you could automate the system to do it.

#3, there aren't many players who are on a first-name basis with Staff members. CLs and GLs are about it. And I'm pretty sure it would be easy to remember if one person among them had their name changed. So your last point is rather moot since it doesn't apply but to .1% of the population. Which reminds me that the Staff go off of who you are now, not who you were.

As for my opinions, I would love to see a name-change feature. It sounds neat.

Yes I do think "Change Names Coupon" would be very appealing.
I'd love one >_<" Someone took my name Maki. So I had to settle for Makii =_='
Now that I leveled more.. I thought. Dang. If only I could change it to a more original name O_o'

yea i hear ya on the name changes...and not just for in game...also in the forums as well...ive gotta little bit of an issue with meh forum name lol...i thought i could change it so i wanst thinkin...now i have to use this account instead of the one i signed up with to do forums

You're absoloutely right. That said I was one of those people who just didnt think. In fact my main character was created out of boredom just so I could see what Teva was like in comparison to Bijou where I started. Then I liked playing cleric.

Personal reasons became involved, and now I really don't like my mains name. Nor do I like being reffered to as matt or matts. Most people on my server call me MG or Kat. Its not like its gonna change my gameplay but it would kinda be nice to not see that hanging over my head anymore >.<

Character Names are like Tattoos.

Always think them through before making one.
Never get one that is in reference to a spouse, just in-case that relationship ends.
Never get one that is in reference to a Tv-show/Band/Movie, etc. You might tire of it with time.

It's going to be something that is going to be stuck with you for the rest of your life(game-life), unless you're willing to chuck out tons of money, pain and time to get it removed.

A lot of games I've seen have this feature, as well as paying to have a character moved to a different server, as premium items.

The main thing a company has to think about when deciding on something like this:
Profitability & Marketability.

"Are the number of people that are going to buy this feature going to pay what we want to charge, to make it worth the programing cost, while still allowing us to make a profit?"

The glory of digital content like this is: Once the program is implemented, the feature can exist for the life of the game.

Regardless of a persons reason for wanting to change a name, I support the idea of this feature. I've considered changing my name IRL, I know a woman who really did change her name (Poor Sunny)

Then there would be no confusion or deletions from guilds or friend lists. I don't think u should have to pay for it. Fiesta store is already too expensive. Yet, I still buy. Ugh.......

I agree. There are some pretty wretched names. The best part is when someone with one of these names, especially with numbers in them, start going off and calling lowbies noobs. It's like, come on. How unself-aware can you get.

I began Fiesta with an awesome name, but couple people had taken offense to it or perhaps Nei just was picking on me but it was changed couple days later by a CSR from a simple name to a quirky phrase. Strange part was I was told to submit a list of names to fiesta_help, too bad none of those worked out I spose. SOoooo if i have to spend lil sparkcash to git a name that doesn't make me think of 4yr olds that would be awesome.

I like the idea of a name change coupon. I made a poor choice choosing my Fighter's name and so it doesn't fit him at all anymore.

Maybe if the coupon for such an item were more costly, it would avoid the explotation the scammers would do. I'd pay for it. :(

They should allow one per account of name change for free, rest could be like 2k sparkcash :P Cuz tbh my mage's name is crap>_> its sh4d0wkidd.... -cough- I hate this 1337 name.. I only used 1337 letters cuz I alrdy made a cleric named shadowkid and archer shadowkidd and I made all 4 chars at same time and I wanted to keep the same name but mix it up a bit :PNow I regeret it >_>

This is such a great idea but would cause so many problems, they might make it and release it for a short amount of time, who knows?

I dont like this idea for that fact that there can be many "identify thefts" IE people changing their name to look similar to another and then get stuff from friends, tarnish a good reputation, etc etc.
