Blacksmith James Quest

I'm not sure of the exact name of the quest (The client just closed on me, and is refusing to open...) but it's the one where he tells you to refine your weapon and gives you an "Ex Elrue".
My weapon was already refined up to a +5, so I couldn't refine it with his Ex Elrue, so I bought the cheapest Cleric weapon he had, and tried to enhance that, but it said that the elrue level didn't match the weapon level or something like that (Again, the client won't open so I can't get exact errors), I also bought the other two Cleric weapons to test those, and neither worked.
Is this a known bug? How do I complete the quest if I can't refine the weapon with the elrue he gave me, can I use elrue that I have in storage?

*EDIT*
Ok, I had to restart to get the client to work again (It appears to have crashed my video driver...) and the quest is "Hopeless James 2" and the error is "Item cannot be enhanced because the level of the enhancement stone is not matching"

As long as the Tier of the stone and the weapon match it should work. If it doesn't it is probably a bugged quest, I believe I saw another thread on this a few days ago so someone already reported it. It might be a good idea to submit a screenie with the error though.

Hmm.. I tried searching for "James" on the forums, I mighta missed it though. And it's an Ex Elrue, it says "used to upgrade your weapons below the Strength Level 1"

Oh, yeah, I guess I only searched bugs, cause there's a post under Quest Discussion >.<
My mistake, sorry. It does look like the quest is bugged.

And, I just enhanced my helmet with a standard Elrue, and it finished the quest, so I guess it doesn't matter if you use the Ex Elrue or not :)
