View Full Version : People Forcefully Trying to Fail KKP?

So, it's not enough that the new kkp after the patch is harder... now there are people that forcefully try to fail it. "If I don't get the kill for such-and-such boss, I'll kill PhinoFlie." Or, for no reason whatsoever that they say, they come in and just start pulling bosses to weird places, out of the way, and kill them very far away from their original intended killing place - making it very difficult to get to the next boss. There have been weird instances of certain people also 'training' other members of the kq with regular mobs, and with KKP at the end, to make the kq fail. Has anyone else seen this trend occurring more and more often? :\

Well my last kkp before hitting lvl 80 was a failure <_<. wen i was pulling robo the darn thing got stuck in the hill and wouldn't budge so we had to kill it then and there and went the mobs spawned i had to try and pull agro so others would make it through (the other fighter just leeched followed mainly). so yea =/ 2-3 people were killed off, i tanked kkp till the mobs overwhelmed me, i died, kkp on the loose, death of cleric ----> a big fat FAIL.
i havent seen anyone who threatened to kill phinoflie though

yeah it kinda sux now. some people join and quit in the middle of the KQ when they finish their quest leaving only 7 people in it sometimes. Plus, the damn kkp hit much harder now making it hard to tank him :/
i need T4 vit and m.def and constant heal or i'll die tanking him.... it fails very often now

they dont kill the mini bosses at the same place before the cap raise bcoz they want to hide the mini boss or like take it away further from other party so that they can start hitting the mini boss dealing more damage to it = will get the points for KKP quest part 2

Well personally, I never actually killed the phinofly after the patch so I'm not sure how easy it dies but I won't lie. I've killed the phinofly before. (: The kq no offense to anyone who was in there with me, but no one would do anything, I believe people were leeching, and no tanks would mock or anything. I believe it served them right.. atleast when I kq'd with people they did their job after that.
Edit: I'm level 80 now so I don't really know anything else about the training the mobs or whatever.. but that is kinda immature. xD

That happens a lot in Mini Dragon KQ where players hang back and kill the mobs that they need and then quit the KQ.
Luckily I can't do MD anymore but I am sure they do it in other KQs too.
Also there are those who are after some stupid title where if you fail 5 KQs in a row you get some stupid title that many players seems to be trying to get now.
So yes, some will deliberately try to make the KQ fail.
I have been in those KQs and seen it happen.
Then when it fails they shout something like "woot, 2 more until I get the title".
How idiotic!
I hate those stupid titles.

That's why they need to wait til 60 then fail the job quest 5 times, it's a lot quicker and requires less effort. And even more than 5, which is easy using this method, if they want the higher fail titles. Getting it done with a kq is stupid as there's a higher chance you'll d.c and lose the consecutive requirement of getting the title o.o

Just my 2 cents...
Or, for no reason whatsoever that they say, they come in and just start pulling bosses to weird places, out of the way, and kill them very far away from their original intended killing place - making it very difficult to get to the next boss.
I'm sure the "intended" killing places that the game developers had in mind for the bosses is exactly where the boss spawned, rather than pulling the boss to the next spawn point to avoid all the mobs in between. To be honest, I'm surprised they still haven't decided to add a gate that prevents you from doing so.

KQs aren't really that hard if everyone knows what they're doing. With the possible exception of Honeying KQ and MD Hardcore, I assure you that every other KQ can be beaten with less than half the maximum number of allowed players.
Either way, you win some, you lose some. What fun is there in life if all you ever do is win?

That's why I hesitated to say 'intended' killing places, however people managed to figure out that's how it worked because it was too hard to do it the other way right? :\ I'm just upset that it's people intentionally trying to fail the kq for whatever reason, not even those trying to do quests, just someone runs in, mocks kkp, and then starts running around to groups of people, trying to get them killed. That's pretty ridiculous. There are also people that join the kq as a group that go in saying "Let's kill phinoflie at the end, while everyone's attacking kkp!" (and yes, they have done it, a certain group of guildmates, on at least two occasions). People that go in to a kq for the express purpose of wrecking it, seems to be happening more and more... like the kq isn't hard enough since the new patch >< that's what the rant was about, lol.

I can understand if they're purposely trying to fail the KQ using methods like that. It just happened last hour in Gordon KQ when a few people decided to kill the Goblin so that we couldn't open the door... Perhaps GMs should make it punishable offense, if it isn't already, if someone is intentionally ruining that KQ in that manner.
I haven't had the chance to experience the buffed up KKP, so I don't really have much of an idea as to how much harder it is. However, I do know that back in the glory days of GoR, we beat MD KQ every single time without ever pulling any of the bosses. I forget when the boss pulling tactic became commonplace for MD KQ, but it was certainly after GoR had lost interest in the KQ. Considering that, before the patch, a KKP KQ could be beaten in ~20 mins, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to beat the KQ without boss pulling.

ah, I'm not exactly sure of everything they did to make it harder... but KKP hits harder, has extra regens, and phinoflie got beefed up on the hits too... she used to hit for about 80-100 damage on me, now she hits about 1.5k or so o.o the boss mobs also hit harder/do more damage. There's also a heal-delay when kkp jumps/flops (dunno if that was there before or not), takes about 5 seconds before stones, pots, or heals kick in, even spammed. Plus, something weird is going on with fighters' mock... I don't even use skills any more when we get to kkp, just regular attacking and then aoe'ing mobs when they come out, and I still draw his aggro and end up tanking. it's the same for the poor cleric that has to heal too much.
Cirno
08-25-2008, 07:10 PM
Mock itself doesn't generate enough aggro on bosses to keep the aggro on the fighter unless they're an axe fighter backing it up with skill spam... Fighters get lazy to kick cause they underestimate how much aggro archers can generate against a boss hehe.
I got the (mis)fortune of seeing the beefed up KKP and Phinofly during one of last week's Fight a Boss events, so I got to see their new damage, and KKP certainly lasted a lot longer than before. Unless the positions have changed, Phinofly should be easily avoided at least. KKP himself definitely deserved to be harder, as he was a pushover compared to MD during the 46~60 range. I really can't judge the difficulty of the new KKP without running through it myself, but I trust my fellow Tevians can overcome any challenge. ^^ Unfortunately due to having to work and having another goal in mind, I may never get another char into KKP range. :/

There are people who have done Honeying dozens, perhaps even a hundred, times and have never beaten, yet they still join it all the time. When defeat is the only thing you're tasted, it will make a victory feel much more satisfying.
Besides, who says you can't have fun while losing? Teva has yet to take down Helga, yet people still had fun during all the failed raids. It gives us a goal to strive for, and when we finally take him down, it'll be even more satisfying.

the pro0blem with fiesta is its too peaceful, so a lil havoc and people think its doom then they whine whine whine, lets taste the true taste of wats a MMORPG, u play a role, not every1's a good guy, even in rl u dont find it so, why expect MMORPG(note the word "role") to be a eden garden.
WendaBoogy

Role play or not, doesn't mean they have to play the ****** or the turd sandwich. Common courtesy towards other people is allowed to go out the window just because it's RPG? I think not. People come to the game to have fun, and the fact that some would come just to terrorize others is not to be over-looked with some excuse such as 'it's RPG'.
Excuses are monuments
of nothing
that build bridges to nowhere,
and those who use them
are incompetent
and masters of nothing.
I never said it would be the Garden of Eden, I'm saying it's tough enough on its own, no reason to add your own personal hell to it as well.

Well on my end Fiesta is far from "peaceful". It is a daily warzone of spammers, bickering, rule exploits, language violations, and people who think its 'hahaha' to push staffs buttons and try to ruin other players enjoyment of the game.
So what qualifies as ruining others players enjoyment of the game? It varies from situation to situation but ultimately when you have a select few making life difficult and trying to ruin the end goal of the majority, it becomes a problem.
That is where most of the responders are coming from in this thread.

I agree with Wenda its incredibly rude of someone to sabotage a KQ for their own amusement or for a title. That said I have yet to see someone do it. The worst I've seen in there is a snobby fighter who did nothing but dance...and our wonderful archer tank helped us get past that little hitch ;)

Almost a week and some after patch and KKP can't even form now since so many people purposely try to ruin it. Like the main tank purposely running KKP over to the groups and then killing them b/c he didn't get his kill.
Sad, why can't people just work together and beat it for the nice rewards?

o.o I have yet to take part in a KKP that failed.
I think that generally, the one or two bad experiences stand out in our minds because they are uncommon. The rest are just generalized and blurred together. By doing so, we then assume that the bad experiences are more 'normal' than the rest of the time.

Yeah, I have a different perspective on the GLs now.
Mostly because of you.
You are very nice and fair even though you have to deal with all of the degenerates in the game.
I hope you remain as a GL.
I don't know if they change GLs the same way they do CLs.
Maybe someone can answer that question for me.

I would like to see the quests removed from KKP (and really from all KQ's). I think it defeats the whole pupose of trying to work together. Instead, it separates people, and generates illwill like this. KKP used to be a good place to see old friends and make new ones, all while working on a common goal. With the institution of quests, it has created nothing but division and hostility. Please get rid of quests for KQ's!!!!!

I completly agree! We need some chaos... I think itd be fun. Random Town raids, and occasional Open world PvP... That would be great :O
But on topic of KKP, I do think its stupid that some ignorant people would ruin everyones fun by taking down Phinofly or leaching. Guess noone cares about personal reward or achievment.
