botters

Just been watching my first bot tonight, don't know what to do about it. I had no idea if any GM was on to report it to even if there was they were probably on the other server, so it got away with it like most botters do. I have not seen any reporting procedures about bots anywhere, has anyone else seen any.

The quote is from a post I did last night but it has been sent into obscurity with the forum being moved (took me long enough to find it) not to mention not getting an answer on what we are meant to do in reporting botters ,I really would like to know that.

Bots are easy things to spot, the one I watched last night was so repetitive and I watched it for well over 30 Min's, as I tried to get into a KQ, it was, as it says like watching a robot. It did not miss a beat, first it fired a magic missile followed by a fire bolt, then it turned and ran for a short distance whether it needed to run or not, always the same distance and time, then it turned and shot with another magic missile, even before the second missile had hut its target, it moved to the target to pick up the drops, which were done so fast I could hardly ever make them out. It would not stop but continue onto the next target, even when the target was behind it, it only ever picked on the weaker pirates avoiding the harder pirate sailors, which it could have took on easy enough using the same tactics. The only time it hesitated was when there was no targets in few but as soon as one appeared it was onto it. once again no matter where it was whether in front of it or behind it, it saw the target. I whispered it a few times asking if it was a bot and it ignored me. I was surprised as it didn't even bother with the usual bot reply of "I don't speak English" which I was expecting.

you realise you can auto target enemys with tab so if they change camera angle and press tab they can shoot enemys behind them.... and when i kill enemys i use the same exact spells and tactics so that dosnt really mean they are a bot

So do I, but you do it for well over 30 minutes without missing a beat, the exact same motions over and over again, hitting those same buttons at the exact same time every time, I know I can't because I'm human, we make mistakes. I know what a bot looks like. no one can play like a bot for any serious length of time and this was a bot believe me. Also if you notice I'm not accuseing anyone of this act as I know I can't prove it, but I know who it was. I just want to know where and how we report these people before it gets out of hand.

If you think someone is doing thay should not be..use the report button. It's uper left of chat window and looks like a red light. Put in the name of the toon and what you think thay are doing wrong. That's about all you can do as far as I know.

there is always a downside and an upside to botters.. personally .. i dont like anyone using a bot aka farmin gold items etc.. just for the fact the word lazy comes to mind..... next... if a game SUPPORTS <sidebar.. supports > a gold delivering site then bots are going to be here regardless.... downside to that is..... drops tend to start sucking.... but the good side is.. drops usually are no where near the farmers themselfs... its not really a win win situation... you can honestly do this if you dont like bots.. then STAY away from the areas prone where bots do hybernate.. aka lower level areas for money item drops..... reporting them ehhh ive done my fair share but it never gets resolved.... not putting the blame on anyone either i will toot my own horn .. ive never used a bot or any bot ''devices'' i LIKE to play a game and enjoy the benifits.. others.. well thats all on them... minus gold farming bots.. cause im sure some of you have bought gold in other games.. you wonder how they got that gold.. easy gold bot farming... i dont say much when a botter is by me UNLESS its one of those annoying ksing bots .. which silkroad is LOADED with them... so honestly you have your own discression with the bot theroy ... me i try and keep quiet unless they hurt the economy of a game or actually cause massive amounts of lagfest that is fun for all < rolls eyes > but happy gaming all and enjoy Fiesta i know i have ... either you hate bots or love them < which im not a fan of loving anything internetish > just remember its your own discression not anyone elses.. < whispers KILL THE BOT NATION > grin
