View Full Version : Removing INT from weapons and armor.

I would like to make a suggestion for a cash shop item to remove INT from weapons and armor.
INT is useless to every class except Mages and it ruins the value of items.
An example would be a level 50 shield with +16 STR and +14 DEX, ok, not the best bonus stats but still ok, but add +23 INT and the value of the shield is significantly decreased.
I know it doesn't effect the performance of the item but people just don't like seeing the INT on there.
The same applies to STR on Mage weapons and armor.
I think a cash shop item to remove undesirable bonus stats would be a great idea just like the cash shop item that is used to remove licenses.

I don't see the point of this; it's not like you'll be able to pay for stat boosts to add to the weapons.
People (if they do) shouldn't consider the weapon worse off if it has an unwanted stat over a weapon with only the other (wanted) stats.
INT+30,STA+30,STR+30 is still better than INT+30,STA+30.

No, I am not suggesting that there be any way to add stat boosts, just a way to remove bonus stats that you don't want.

@_@ yes we get that but CL is saying that such an item is pointless since with or without this "unwanted stat" the players get 0 bonus from using such a cash shop item which is totally out of trend with what the premi items are supposed to accomplish in the first place....
silly me, i came to rep this post thinking someone finally was saying we should stop with the int on armor that cant use it and restrict it to mage gear, cuz i dont get the idea of why it can appear on cleric, fighter or archer armors to begin with...
<_< disappointed, but wont derep xD

i actually kinda like this idea.
another game has a status refiner system in-game where you can pay to decrease the stat / completely remove the stat (probability-based, like enhancement :X). that is because equips have stat requirements, so you can decrease/remove to your discretion.
because fiesta doesn't really have stat reqs on the equips, i can't see it being a major concern o: BUT i also don't get why some equips have the stats that they do. the extra stats don't hurt.. but they also don't help :S

I totally agree with having some item for removing the unwanted stats on weapons and armour. Even better would be just fixing the system so that the equipment doesn't get bonuses to useless stats.

Well that would be the ideal solution of course but that has been proposed so many times since open beta first came on line and there is just no incentive for them to fix it so this is the reason that I proposed the cash shop item.

not all mages mind str, those that do nothing for cool down with smash things with their weapon and the str is helpful though they won't go out looking for it.

I myself wouldn't pay money to remove stats everytime i got new armor or weapons. It would cost way to much when i could use that money to buy better things like crit items and Blessing of Teva.
It would be a good ides to remove them all together from the items that dont need the stats, but you don't gain anything and you don't lose anything so there's really no point in them doing so.
What would be a better idea if you could buy an item from the Fiesta store that will let you put 1/3 of the stat that you removed on to a stat thats already there. That way it'll be worth more for your money than just paying to remove somthing.

I've been thinking about this for some time now and that seems fair in my eyes.
but then again the chance of it happening is low unless the programmes like the idea. i know i'd buy that item because i have armor with str on it thats just sitting there that could be used for better things.

Well if I pick up a weapon with int on it for fighter, if I don't find a better one and if my fighter need a weapon then she gets it. If I pay for removing stat, I may as well pay for eye to enhance it to a +9.

Use that fact to your advantage. xD Look for equips with Int and other good stats. That way you'll pay less for that but possably get more. :D

That would be what is commonly referred to as a POC.
Still it is better to have no bonus stats than a really bad one.
You could still take advantage of the increased defense, damage, crit and aim of a good green without it having a really bad bonus stat like +20 INT
Even worse, imagine how bad it would be if you get a blue melee weapon with big INT and not much of anything else, it's not likely that you will want to dump that on an NPC for 20 silver. LOL
Now would you pay $2 - $3 to get rid of it? I would!
I still think it is better to have no bonus stats than to have a really bad one.
And a large amount of INT on a melee item is an instant put off.

INT doesn't effect the stats at all, it doesn't make it worse in any way.. Its not a "bad stat" nor is it a good stat (yet) its just doesn't do anything, doesn't make it weaker, nor stronger
I know you just don't like seeing it there but I heard in the far future we fighters are getting an attack that does Dmg and M.Dmg
Still, spending 2$ to make the item stats look better in your opinion seems like a waste to most people, it wont be a popular item.. lol INTaphobic? XP

Having licenses on a weapon doesn't hurt it either, in fact you may ask, why anyone would want to remove a license since it is only beneficial and the fact the creator's name stays on the weapon doesn't hurt the performance either.
But it used to be that putting a license on a weapon would ruin the value of the weapon because most people don't like it, some do but most don't and from what I have heard, the title removal item sells fairly well in the cash shop.
Now if you see a nice weapon with goofy titles on it you can have them removed.
Everyone is happy.
No one really knows if the stat removal item would be a success or not unless it is tried.
It would probably just be a few lines of code modified from the title removal item and re brand it as a stat removal item.
People would have the option to leave the stats alone or have them removed.
Everyone is happy.
