I say we players take back this game from the spammers.

I say we just start sending them emails, as many as we can, and every week make a new email, this way even if they block and email, they will get hit with an all new set of emails. I saw we keep this up til they leave. Because they will be losing money. For all the emails they have to deal with, and for all the games they do this for, it will mess them up.

If your tired of the ingame spam, and want to take it back, say so. If enough people agree with it, then we will get it started. If only a couple of people agree, then it will be a fruitless effort.

So if your with me on this, then stand up and say so.

I wouldn't do that. Bc there is a great chance that they'll register your e-mail in their database and sell to a bunch of mail spammers.

LOL have you ever typed free e-mail into a search engine and saw the amount of free e-mail address's you can have.
marasgal If you were going to do this sort of thing, it would have to be done on a massive scale, as you said only few people doing it, it would not work. so you would probably have to go to other games and get them involved too. I have gave this some thought and it would be a big job, a massive job actually just to put it all together. just posting here would not work if your really serious though I'm sure you would be able to find people out there (me included) that would be willing to help out but it would not be easy.

oh i know its really hard to get this type of thing worked together, but if everyone went into other games where they are spamming this junk, and gathered the masses there, then decided a date to begin it, when we have what we think is enough people who are actually dedicated to this mission, then I really think it can be done.

Besides, if everyone used a free email address to junk when they are done, then it wouldnt matter if they spammed those emails. Just dont use an Email that you want to keep.

If enough people get in on this, and flood their email system, they have 2 choices, either stop, or move to another email, which will cost them ALOT of money, because then they have to work twice as hard to get the message out, and when that email opens up, we just redirect to that email, pretty soon, we will have interfered with enough of their business, they will give up, and move to other games.

Trust me, you mess with a companies income, they dont like it, and its not like they can sue us, if they did, they would have to admit they are in the wrong also, because they are selling property that isnt theirs to sell in the first place. Plus, they would have one HELL of a time trying to hunt down each and every person who did it and bring suit to them.

Just as a side note, we can always register on their sites, and get into their forums and cause some problems there also :)

Which would only be another nail in the coffin. Again, they would have to sue someone, and if they did, they would be in trouble also. Because then the games would just turn around and sue them in the process :)

Ok i have shot off emails to the 4 different places that are spamming up our chat. I have asked/told them to leave the game.

If they dont, then I will start looking around their sites and find the games they are using, and start looking in their forums for more help.

If a GM reads this, Please Sticky this, so more people can take notice.

We know that you cant take any direct action against them, other then banning them as they come in, so hopefully the players can take it the next step. We want this game clear of them, as much as you do, and this would help others to see what the plan is.

Thanks in advance if you do :)

Spamming Gold seller spammers would make you just like them.

It "might" hinder them, but it doesnt profit you or others in any way.

Gold sellers have 1 motive, to sell as much ingame currency for real life currency as they can. If you dont buy their ingame currency, and totally ignore them then they would have no purpose. Only because people actually buy their currency that they're so active in persuing further customers.

The most annoying thing about them is that they spam and clog the chat box. Maybe having the option to Ignore players would help with this, as well as ignoring unpleasant people.

Ok this is what you have to look at.

Say they have 3 emails that are used to collect the information. Player, Money, Ect.

Now lets say 300 players decide to take action against this site, now these 300 players start spamming their box as fast as they can for 15min. Their box is going to be Flooded with so many emails, they are going to have to go through and sort out who is a spammer and who isnt. I dont know what emails you use, but I havent found one yet, they can only select certain names and filter them from your Email if you havent put them on a filter list before they send an email.

Anyways, then after 15min, all the players switch to another email, and respam again. That could be Thousands and thousands of emails in 30 minutes. Now they have to go through their emails and seperate the customers and the spammers. This is going to slow them down and cost them money. If we did this once a day for a week, they would get sick of it, and pull out of the games from where these players are.

Like you said, they want to make as much money as they can as fast as they can, and if they have to filter emails, and sort emails, that is alot of time spent dealing with these problems. So its just easier to move out and go back to games where your not getting spammed from, or a new game.
also if we go into their Live chat, and Forums and start causing problems, that is going to cause them problems also. Its going to make their customers mad, and they are going to go else where, to get what they want.

If we do NOTHING at all, and try to ignore the problems, the few customers they have now, will just continue to grow and grow. Pretty soon it will be like wow, you log in and your getting hit with Spam Whispers. I dont know about you, but I really dont want that to happen

I think Outspark should sue those gold sellers.

@ Anarchy you work for these gold sellers don't you, it's the only reason I can see that you would stick up for them at every possible chance you get. You actually want us to do nothing about them apart from to try to ignore them, you want us to let them continue to do what they are doing, so that means you must be either 1 of them or at the least a customer to them.:(

Not true, Felter (necessarilly). He's being realistic. Even pay-to-play games who can and do spend resources to go after RMT can not fully eleminate it. WoW and FFXI, for example, ban tens of thousands of accounts, but they will just go make a new account; it's an endless cycle. It's not purely a "beat 'em or join 'em" situation--there's a third option, "ignore them." Sucks, I know, but you can't stop them for good.

lol, you gonna pay the legal fees, or something?

Probably not the nicest way, but maybe Outspark could put out a warning to ban anyone who is found guilty of buying gold from an outside source.

Thing is, it wouldn't work so well unless there is an easy way to find out such things.

I agree, there is only so much a Company can do legally. Which is why I think players should do something.

I mean, this is OUR game isnt it? (Yes I know its really the Developers game) but I mean this is the game we want to play. Do we really want these guys flooding it?

Its time players took a stand. Its time for us to take the time and give a little back to the game, and help the GMs deal with this problem.

So its just that easy, its time for a choice.

Fight them, and do to them what they are doing to us, and cause them financial problems, by making it hard for them to do business?

Or Sit back, let them do what they want, and soon have them whispering us every other second of game play, and having an Ignore list so big, you will never find the end of it. Til you get to the point you leave to find another game?

Me personally. I am going to do what I can to fight them.

So who is with me on this?
I need to know, so I can start making plans. I will start a web site tomorrow, so players can see what information I can turn up. Anyone that is willing to help me on this, let me know. I can use any and ALL help I can get.

Viva La Revolucion!

yep, I am going to get the site up and going first. We need a way to communicate to everyone at one time. To get this message out and how to do it.

This needs to be planned so it does as much problems as we can to them.

How about just placing their website names and addresses on the filter list so it shows up as ********. that way when they advertise we can laugh at them. they would have to change domain names.. and eventually they will end up loosing money since it costs money to register a new domain name every time.

all they will do is filter bypass. just like the players do.

So say lvlgold.com is filtered they would just put in lvl gold [dot] com

So that would only be a temporary set back. We need to take this to them. We need to show them that the players wont sit back any longer.

Consider this, players who buy in game cash from the site are hurting themselves, so far all the sties i have seen advertised contain keyloggers on them, that download to your computer. What does this mean? it means your account password could be logged, then hacked for it's items and money.
