You need to turn off User Account Control.
Control Panel > User Accounts > Turn UAC on or off

it doestn work the same on vista as it does on any of the other windows systems. Vista is C++ rather than DOS. my hubby and i have had vista since it came out nad we arent exactly sure how to do it yet.

Moved this to troubleshooting because it was in gameplay guides section. The gameplay section, found under the Guides section is for gameplay guides only. Having this in troubleshooting will get you more responses. Also please read the troubleshooting stickied threads, there have been some new updates and I believe a new client you can download that may help fix some vista problems.

You should contact support@outspark.com by email with as much information about the problem as possible, including what version of windows vista and any system information you can provide.

I kind of had that problem but now what happens is that when ever i try to login it goes through but then the game crashes when it opens the server list which stinks now.

This is because you are not the Administrator for that PC.
You do not have permission to disable firewalls or alter settings.
The only way you can do this is to have the Admin log in (most likely your parents?)

It's quite easy actually... Just click the round "Windows" logo (where the "Start" button used to be on XP or NT) and it's right above it. It contains the text "Start search" and kinda shares the Vista "search" feature. You can type any run command in there, or type "CMD" and press enter to get a regular DOS window.

Ditto... followed all the posts, pulled all of my hair out, cleaned out the registry, downloaded the latest, greatest, newest client about 5 times now (at 2+ hours a pop!), rebooted a dozen times, posted my own story asking for help (no response btw), and NOTHING is working. I just want to play for crying out loud!!!

It must be run as an administrator. You will need to put the password in everytime you play. Unless you turn UAC off.. But then that opens up the computer to security vulnerabilities.
