This guide assumes you are not a mage and have not moved the default actions from hotkeys 1 and 2:

Target monster and push 1
Push 2 when monster dies
Repeat many times
Go to town
Look for mushrooms with blue boxes over them
Sell loot to players and NPCs
Choose two tradeskills and make potions/scrolls/stones/etc.
Push B and open your own sell store to sell your drops or created items

All NPC's buy loot. The most basic form of making money, is selling anything that you have to an NPC.

If you want to make more than that, then you have to observe and work the economy ;)
