Massive Account Stealing!!!

this needs to be fixed anyone that manages to get the account password to someones account can easily change the account iformation ***not just wipe the account but take it all together*** possibly getting the account banned

they dont even have to guess that info anymore to change it now anyone can log in and change the account information with out any problems

simply put if i were to get your password..i could change your account info **ALL OF IT** and unlike other games this doesnt promt you for any info for changing the password + plus its gives me the Q/a for your account (its useless) in all and all even in most games they have account and char deletion prevention where you at least have a chance... so its not soo easy to do it...for example Silkroad takes 7days to delete a char in fiesta its instant...regardless of the level. and in order to change your account password it takes a good hacker to steal your information where as in here... its a bit to easy...i see this is going to happen alot to people

Yeah most websites are like that.... If you get hacked.. most likely it's because you ran a bot that you shouldn't have trying to cheat the game. And in the process getting a virus or keylogger.

It is (or should be) common sense to make your password complex and take precautions not to let anyone get it.
The same applies to any site PayPal, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, it's not unique to Outspark.
If someone gets your password they can completely take over your account and lock you out.

Then you have to get in touch with support and have them reset your password to let you back in but by that time the damage is usually already done.
Blah, Blah, Blah.
And GM Kaalan doesn't go around arbitrarily banning people nor does any other GM.
If they do it was either a mistake or they had good reason.

im going to use sro as an example pay close attention.
1) getting your password stolen has nothing to with being complex....90% of the time its stolen from you while your grinding or while your in town **so you dont know who did it**

2) if they delete your char in fiesta its instant, in sro it takes 7 days(fiesta should have a time limit like sro to prevent this)

3) if they log on to your fiesta account via website they can change all your information without being asked anything and see your Q/A (not like it matters) in sro you need to awnser the Q/A in order to change any importaint information. (to prevent account loss and give you a chance to save your char from deletion)

4) In fiesta if you change your password the company doesnt notify your email about it (didnt for me) not like it mattered because all this can be changed WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS ASKED!!!! in sro it notifys your email that it has been changed and tells the user also requires it to be verified

to put it simply if you get hacked or keylogged your account is 120% gone there is no way to save your account at all!!!

actually botters do put in keyloggers, and simply cuz they know a million more people will try to use em. its a problem in every game. and as for use common sense, sleeper you should check out other game forums. keylogged bots are the most common.

if you are willing to cheat, be willing to be cheated.

This is due to the fact that they can then take any account they need to... let you bot through a game for a month or two and then bam... no more account or at least no more money or items. Simple fact people who come up with bots are looking for easy ways and well putting out a version that is key logged makes that all the much easier.

As for people getting your password its not as easy as you think and is usually 99% the players fault.. now yew now and then a database containing the passwords for a game does get hacked but its vary rare as not only does it require hacking into the database you then need to decode everything. Easiest way is by key logger or by going through a list of common passwords... abc123, qwert, a persons name, a president, city names...

If your worried about being hacked then use a combination of numbers and letters avoid using words in your passwords.

In all my years online (back from 300 baud modem days), I have never..EVER heard of someone's account info getting taken from them being in a game. I've seen ones that even ask for a passport, or social security number.

Some, like Outspark the login and game servers are totally different anyhow. Basically it's like this.. you run the launcher.... you put in your username and password..... It checks that info and tells the game server what part of the database to open and load into the fiesta.bin. your login info and password has nothing to do with the game anymore. You're just a hexidecimal based code being sent between servers.

Now if you use bots, visit a lot of sites...download things a lot chances are you wil leventually wind up with a keylogger or backdoor trojan.

If you keep your antivirus up to date, shouldn't have any problems. But just sittign there in game is NOT going to get you hacked. I've yet to get an account hacked in over 25 years online.

Sleeper YOU may make bots with the best of intentions and no viruses but who's stopping people from taking them, adding one and redistributing?

anyways.... if you google account hacking vids or look on youtube 90% of the videos show players just running around on screen... then you look again and it points out there Ip addresses there account info the whole 9 yards.....my point here is that fiesta has no way of saving anything.....at least in sro i can save the char and mabey its level...ill have to buy new gear yeah... but i still have the char...in fiesta its a blank account...

Think you might want to read that again. Kaalan's meaning cannot be any clearer. In other words, Kaalan always has a reason when he bans someone, he doesnt go for joyride banning.

And if he threatens to ban, then he may or may not, depending on your attitude, and the severity of the situation. You might want to be more humble, GM's can ban indiscriminately without reason, without notice, but Kaalan chooses not to.

I also fully agree with your hopes that something is changed with how easy it is to delete a character, how no emails are sent when account information is changed, etc., but presentation is half the battle when pitching an idea, and you're losing that half.
