ok besides the copper boost what are the advantages to taking on a apprentice?......can they level faster?

Apprentices recieve some nice items (weapon / rings / CS items) at lvls 10 - 20 - 30 and 40.

They don't, its not implemented yet.I leveled my apprentice to lvl 30 and both of us got absolutely nothing

So what it means we apprentices dont get anything and masters get 10% or so of our spent money on npcs :S

Not true. I lvld my Cleric to lvl 10 right after getting a master. I got a like +7% crit mace. I think there was also an EXP card too.

The biggest issues Ive seen with people saying they dont get the rewards is that they arent looking in the right spot. Make sure your apprentices know that if they cant see thier rewards, they need to check the 5th button in the inventory window. There are the 2 regular buttons showing the basic inventory, 2 extended ones if they get things like the Iron Case, then the rewards button where items for apprentices go when they level, then the Spark Cask premium item button.

My cleric got at lvl 20:
- a green hammer (7% crit)
- ring +5 end
- ring +5 str
- Gathering cards (1 hours) x3

It show up in the reward inventory.

Also, these items are bound to yourself only, can't trade or sell them.
