Hi all ^^
I made a tutorial of how I color in photoshop, I learned this technique from another tut, I hope it's useful to some people =3

The character I drew is a mage, my wife Raveon in Apoline.

Is it wrong because I fill up the parts with the paint bucket? Then I fill in any parts that the paint bucket wouldn't have covered. I'm still learning about this ^^

That's a way to color fast, though it wouldn't fill outlines, for example in my sig, I filled up the brown arm color with the bucket, you see tiny white dots in the outline.
Though they can be fixed if you swipe a brush over them :P
I rushed my sig ^^ and was lazy.
But yeah, the bucket is a nice tool to get things done fast =3 thx for pointing that out :P

Lol, very nice guide, I think i repped you yesterday for the start of it. I can't wait to try some of the tips I've learned from this, but I am interested in seeing how the rest of your example sketch turns out. Think you could post it sometime?

this is a sweet guide plushii. i dont do things the same way...for some reason rather use the teensy weensy brush and do everything by hand...no filling. i dont know why but i should really start doing things this way.

You probably have the order of the layers switched, where the layer you are painting on is lower than the lineart layer in the layer list.

Either that, or you are trying to paint on the background layer.

Ah, so that's what the burn tool is for. I don't do a lot of coloring on sketches since I don't have my own scanner.

Most of my Photoshop is based on 3D

yeah pretty much what we had to do in my animation course lol
except for we had to make a stitches palet and that thingy where it records what your are doing so it rotated and unlocked made layers moved them around that we needed and all that had a colouring part to it also luckly i still have that all on my portatable harddrive mwahahahaha*cheats* (when she gets photoshop) but thanx again for that might try it out...

I like clean my outline to just black and white them then make duplicates layer of the outline layer filling each in for different things like hair eyes skin clothes.
