Hello to all my fellow Citizens of Xen!
About a week ago, I was approached by someone who mentioned that the game has no real "history," as many of the new players and even the old players alike, are unaware of many of the important things that have transpired around them, things that have made the game, and the community, into what it is today.
I thought about this, and realized that a place without History, is not much of a place at all. So I decided to undertake this task, but it is not something I can do alone. With much thought, I came up with a few ideas to make this idea possible.
My vision: to create a flowing and ever changing thread documenting the History of Xen, i/e storyline events, important changes to the game/community, firsts, and so on.
So, with the support of my guild, I, notFire, First Speaker of Foundation, would like to ask if any of you other members of the community would like to assist me in this task. I am looking for anyone who is willing, even if it is only to help generate ideas, or even as simple as someone saying "hey, remember ____!"
Anything at all would be appreciated. Feel free to post on this thread, or leave me a message! Thanks!

Oh, I can help also, since I started playing during the first 5 minutes of OB.
Hmm, where to start...
- Beginning of OB:
Well, I haven't remembered much of when I was Xenian. Though I became very fond of the game quite quickly. 99 out of 100 players were Xenians. The next day, about 50 out of 100 players were already in their class. Hmm, nothing exciting appeared though. Just a start of a new continent...
- December:
Christmas Trees in Essene and Bry. Snow covered around the trees and presents can be seen beneath the trees. Santa in Bry gave out really awesome outfits, such as the antlers, snowman hat, etc. Santa in Essene teleports you to the Santa Lair. Music was Santa is Coming to Town. Really really awesome time in Xen back then.
- Santa Lair
I think the Santa in Essene informed how Santa X is interfering with Santa's gift manufacturing. There are three floors. Each floor had Santa Xs, and defeating one gains you an Antler (in the first floor). a Snowman Hat (2nd floor) and a Christmas Tree Hat (3rd Floor). Like the Blackheart Lair, all monsters were red regardless of level. Music? Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. The best song in that time. 8D
Little Story of the Santa Lair:
Santa Lair was the best place to train and have fun at the same time. Although all monsters were aggro, so many nice and great times we had there.
There was a group I had back then that announced the mobbings and swarms there. I totally forgot what it was called. >.< (Hito, toru, loyal, you guys should remember this, lol). Anyways, using white eggs, we help players navigate through the lair, without being mobbed. Really fantastic time there.
Let's not forget Deathbreed aka Disturbed 1. >.> Scout that time, he loved killing people by dragging the whole 1st floor and dumping on anyone he despises. Hehe, totally lots of fun with him.
- Santa X Events
Similar to Blackheart:
[Notice] Santa X is in the *insert map here*. Go now and defeat him (Something similar).
Santa X, along with his minions, drop Bells (Red Bell, Silver Bell, Black Bell, Blue Bell, or a Gold Bell). The Bell drops are all random. These bells are used to exchange for items from the Santa in Bry.
-----------
Periods of December to March (?)
- Yellow Watermelon Demand
Before the drop of Yellow Watermelons increased dramatically (which was December to February[?]), yellow watermelon was the TOP most rarest item to obtain. Each costed about 1 million to 5 million kron. The drop was 1 out of 100 chances. Having a pet concludes you are a professional grinder or very very very rich. Being rich that time was very rare.
- Xen Demand
Similar to the Yellow Watermelon. Before increase of drop and demand, Xens rarely rarely dropped. The price? 1 million kron - 2 million. However! Back then nobody really cared about xenning gears, nor even care about AoEing. Therefore, the Xen prices remained like this until the increase of drop rate.
Several months later... After the update where Xens drop rate increases, the prices went scorching down. However, the demand of it remains very very little. Therefore, it reached as low as 300k per Xen. Again, nobody really looked into xenning gear back then. (2/3 of the population were level 40 or below).
- Hosted Events (December to March-ish)
Back then, rider held most of the events, along with Murdock and Break. PvP was popular back then as well, and they were mostly free. Winners of PvP? 99% of the time you see:
[Notice] PvP is now over. Congrats to Shiki for...*you get the point*
Hehe, yes, Shiki pwned almost every PvP event, winning a Lucky Ball each time. Yes, Lucky Balls were actually prizes and can be traded.
- Awakenings
Awakenings that time were very very hard. If you were there, you can see how. Like all awakenings, it was very crowded, though the AoE was limited to 0. Actually, nobody really learned to AoE commonly back then. You'd hear Alastor constantly shouting and players complaining of extreme lag.
---------
- Towns
The only towns that I can remember was Brynhilld, Essene, Candyvault, and Eir. Jot came a few months later.
Brynhilld was the main center of trade, selling, and buying. The place was so overloaded, it became a huge mall extending to Mall Street and Summerhill Street. Very difficult to maneuver in that town.
Essene was a ghost town...Usually it was a place of conversation and socializing. Hehe, I remember Fireslinger hanging out by the West Bridge with Misao and a couple of others.
Candyvault...really nothing to say about it.
Eir was the main town to get to Rudwork, the toughest map of that period. You'd see all the high leveled players heading towards there and grind constantly.
------------
I'll add more later. I have homework to complete at the moment, lol.

EDIT: Please be aware that like all historical information, some may be false or worded differently. If there's any information that you think seems wrong, or you have another view of it, please go right ahead and correct it. This is what I currently have in my historical book of Xen. Thank you for the cooperation.

Well, I know VampMelody is another one. The 4th and 5th I am not 100% sure. My possible candidates that may be are Eri, dylan, strider, haruko, and a couple of common folks in the game.
------------
Though what I recall, the last event that revolved around the heroes was like months ago at an awakening. We don't even mention them and now the heroes of Xen are actually all of us. I think we should recall back to them for the spirit of them. Considered this fact as a lost-forgotten historical fact.

- I don't remember to much from back then, but I remember the introduction of Second Classes.
- Also when we all warped to Jot for Drekard's B-day party and Alastor attacking and pwning us all with the ice map monsters. Also finding out that Alastor was Drekard's brother :O.
- When people complained the exp. was bad at 4x, 5x, etc..

Hum I actually don't remember the name either xD but yeah that was so awesome. It was so hard to go to the second floor, the entrance was always so mobbed !
I remember running around with all the candies and toys running after me xD so fun.
And at that time we also had lurers. That was really my favorite job xD I loved to lure in our parties, there was no AoE skills but we were trying to stay away from too many aggros. Or just trying to clear the entrance >.>
I also remember abusing of my invisible skill :x but come on, there was no death penalty xD
But anyway, if someone remember the name of this group, that'd be nice @_@
