About the Material Composition Skill

How useful is this skill? Does any of the other skills (potion, scroll, stone) depend on any of the materials produced using this skill?

I think it is used to increase the tier of an item. I'm pretty positive about elrues / lix / xyr. No clue about scrolls / armors / weapons.

Actually other skills do depend on it.
For example for me to make Lix I need low grade copper ore.
Unfortunately I have a lot more copper ore of higher grades now so I have to give one of my characters the decomposition skill to break that ore down so that I can use it.
And the same applies to other materials as well.
Actually material composition and material decomposition are both needed.

I am doing the same. I have a little vendor character that will be learning those skills for my own( and friends) use later in the game :)

same, my mage has mat comp, and my third char will have decomp. then ill have all the skills spread out betwene my chars lol
