Isn't it the most freakish thing when someone starts hitting on you in a game? Somebody besides myself must find that disturbing. Anybody?

I don't necessarily find it disturbing. There are the ones that ask you sexual questions and obviously sexually harass you, those are the ones you should avoid. And the ones that spam "hi 14/f/cali look 4 bf" you should ignore.
However there are some that flirt in games, some for RP purposes and then those who.. are kinda sad. ^^

I've seen ppl who create relationships in games, chat a lil, talk on the phone a bit, and then find out they actually have a lot of things in common and then have a relationship in RL...the other kind of ppl who do "looking for lvl 40+ bf, I hot girl in california" is just...ppl who wanna mooch off other ppl using their "relationship" as an advantage, and ppl who sexually harass are just ppl who are well they are immature xD, but I have 4 friends who actually started a REAL relationship in a MMORPG and then leading in to RL, its a bit touching ^_^ but the others are just weird O-o...they are either online predator/pedophiles or just really really immature freaks O-o

I'll have to agree with Des, RP is one thing, but more often than not, it's not :( I made a mistake telling people I was really a female. On this forum, as a matter of fact, I had made a joke about boys wearing skirts. I got TWO! two different private messages from two certain people saying that they'd wear a skirt for me if I blew the first one, or let the second one do something that doesn't need mentioning :P

actually it isnt disturbing im sitting next to my fiance on our couch in our home and we met off the internet through a site called zwinky we hung out there and on a couple othersites and just went from there couldnt be happier never met no one face to face in rl life i get along with the way i do her and now we live together in rl life but on to more pressing issues whats up with the not being able to log in no ones having the same probs i had the 401-0 issue nwo i have map is being updated try again later and it has said that for 5 hours now it dont take 5 hours to update a map

I stay away for the most part from people who speak horribly or act strange. Usually, in MMO, I have realized that people who obsess over the game and play it daily and, if applicable, are constantly doing things with other people, they are no threat (generally). What's scary is being called a babe just because your character is a female but that does not mean the person behind it is female. I do have a female character but I'm not female and it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck the first time I was called babe, still makes me cringe. In a way it is sexual harassment and that is a rule violation, makes me wonder how many people get reported for it.

it's a 3d virtual world.. for 18 and older..anything goes there. Including skins that show everything...attachements as well so you can be anatomically correct.... and use them as well.

There IS also a PG rated teen grid.

i remember the first words spoken to me in this game "hehe you have pink panties". thats just sad walking around peeking up cartoon skirts. i'm a fully grown man with a daughter that's closer to most of the player's ages than i am and i had a small child telling me about my panties. really makes me rethink my decision to play a female character. don't think i want to try to level while thwarting the romantic suggestions of pre-pubescent boys

the only other game i played for an extended time is Conquer Online and killj0y was not one of my characters. i'll probably be moving on from this one soon enough. i like it a lot but my computer is too slow to handle it. if youve seen my name before it was probably standing next to a gate getting beat up and doing nothing to stop it. i love losing exp just bcs my computer doesnt think i should be able to defend myself for 2 minutes after switching maps

ahhhh SL the place for drama... I played but not for very long, some aspects were great (my char was a full cat-person by the time I was done, and I love designing), but there are wayyyy too many people with issues on there. sitting around talking to my friends and a couple of the guides and this moron walks up with a 2 foot long (fill in the blank) and nothing else. Guides told him that wasnt allowed in that area, dude wouldnt listen, finally after saying it 3 times they booted him, but yeah.... other areas it is allowed and wow do people abuse that privlage.... I'll stick with fully clothed anime-like pixels even if there are some rude. immature people before I go back to dealing with SL on an kind of basis oO

The game was better back in its early days. It's got its pluses and minuses. I still reside in SL but I moved from it to here since I found this a nice change of pace. I occasionally return to SL to wander around and look at the builds in game but that's about the extent of my desire for it anymore. The overly rampant sexuality in there is a huge turn off to me.. be it guys, girls, or guys disguised as girls for 'hawt lesbian sexx0r'. *eye roll*

Think thats bad? There is a game called Red Light District. SL is tame compared, RLD was MADE for that purpose alone..... From the screenshots I saw... wow can we say totally overboard for an online game that cant 100% verify age. Kinda scary when you think that someone actually made a game with just that in mind.....

i was getting that error too, but i was reading on the forums about levels or something being reset and i have a level 18 cleric and it was level 20 to keep the characters i was like NOOOOOO but i downloaded the game again (3 hours later) i logged on and it was fine

That was for closed beta around a month ago or so, in early/mid August.
