It's not long, so if you read it please leave me a comment so I'll know what you think. It's meant to be a humorous short story ^^
All names, and part of the events are fictional. Any similarities are purely coincidental :)
Enjoy!
The Stressful Class
There I was standing in the middle of a huge room which had another four rooms connected to it. It was dark and frankly it made my blood run cold. I was surrounded by around fifteen people, all there for the same reason; to kill the Great Spider. Suddenly everyone started running towards one of the rooms and I quickly followed not wanting to fall behind. Four other people asked me if I would like to join up with them so the five of us could help each other through this time of peril in hopes to make it out of there safe and alive. So Warrior, Enchanter, Archer, Hawk and I prepared for battle. That’s when I saw it; tons of monsters, more than the eye could see began rushing towards us. I froze…
Hawk was caught off guard and hit… our party of five had already lost one of its party members so soon in the battle. Venom, blades, magical powers, everyone threw all they could at the monsters in hope to fend them off. I healed ferociously trying hard to keep everyone alive, and it was becoming increasingly impossible to do so. I healed Enchanter then Archer and then Enchanter again hectically trying to keep up. Suddenly Warrior’s life dropped to an unstable amount; he was about to die but I quickly cast my heal as soon as it became available to me, and I was successful. I felt happy and proud of myself for having managed to keep everyone alive, even though keeping up with everyone was proving to be hard.
“Do your job Paladin! I almost died!”
I was taken aback by Warrior’s comment. But I said nothing and persevered. All was going well until suddenly giant men with pickaxes came running towards us. They were about to hit Warrior, so I healed him, but I must have caught their attention as these two large men came running towards me. What was I supposed to do now?! I kept on healing my party, whose life was dropping rapidly, as fast as my little heal could go. My Sp stones were dropping fast. Heal, Invincible, Rejuvenate, Restore… It was too much to handle alone. The large men had now made it towards me and began to hit me without mercy. Hp stone, Potion, Hp stone, Potion… I couldn’t stop healing my party, so as I kept taking hits from these two my Hp stones and Potions were going down even faster than my Sp stones now.
My party’s life kept dropping fast and the fact they all were relying on me for heals without even trying to aid themselves was making it a hard job for me. But it was ok; I kept on using my sp stones, my hp stones, and my potions. As long as I didn’t make my party waste any Hp stones (disregarding the amount I was now using for myself) everything was fine. I felt proud.
“Paladin you’re heals are slacking! I’m going to have to use stones if you keep on doing such a terrible job!”
I became flustered by Warrior’s comment. But kept on healing and healing and healing… Then, their lives all dropped at the same time! I tried to heal as fast as I could but abruptly I felt a sharp pain and fell to the floor. Nooooo! I was so focused on their lives I forgot my own and there I was lying on the ground dead. Warrior was too focused to notice I died and not cutting me any slack before did not do so now. He did not use any Hp stones to aid himself, and found himself in the same position I was in: dead.
“NOOB Paladin! Don’t you do your job?”
I took a deep breath and peacefully closed my eyes ignoring the annoying buzzing of the dead person next to me.
