surely this needs to be looked at, my level 5 firebolt spell says it has additional damage of 210-xx and level 1 has additional damage of like 18-xx however when used the difference in damage on a target from lvl1 to level 5 is about 50 only? same goes with all grade 1 spells the difference in damage is very low only about 20-50 max where as if it was doing the damage the spell says it should be about 150+ difference, as it stands mages are better off using level 1 spells as it saves on mana big time and is only a little damage difference, not to mention cool time on lvl 1 magic bolt is way better and same with the fire one

Actually No there isn't any problem with the spell, it's withthe monsters you're fighting.
As you get higher in level and attack higher level monsters you need to realize that they have higher defense and magical defenseas well, just like you do when you buy new armor as you get higher.
To test this, go to Forest of Tides and go kill a slime with your level 5 firebolt and look at the damage dealt.

Yep, Once again Ascii is correct. You have to take into account the mob you are fighting defenses.Nothing wrong with the spells.

err you reading what i was trying to get across right?
lvl 1 magic bolt- 11-14 additional magic damage
level 5 magic bolt - 160-210 additional magic damage
the difference in damage when cast on the same mob = maximum of 50 damage..
the minimum damage delt shout be a difference of 149 because 160-11 = 149
im not talking about the damage the spell is actually doing, yes i realise that they have defense and so it will not deal the damage it says on the spell however the difference in damage that the spells actually cause - level 1 magic bolt typically hits a bat for about 66-77 level 5 magic bolt typically hits a bat for about 97-110, how can this be when the basic damage of level 5 bolt is supposed to be 149 higher than level 1?

Tasty... I can see why you're getting more and more sarcastic as time goes by.
I dunno was my post accidently posted in Swahili? I thought I made it pretty clear.
I can't explain it in any simpler terms and I'm not going to draw pictures.
