"It started with a few people, disappearing in the middle the of night. At first, we couldn't find any connection; a few reports of missing people from different parts of the world...that doesn't catch anyone's attention. Then more and more people, at a greater scale and intensity. Soon, report came flying in like crazy. We have no idea what is going on, and what is happening. All these people, they just-just vanished into thin air. Before we noticed anything, it was too late. We couldn't stop whatever was going on....it's crazy..."

Just read it and see if you like it. ^^
Introduction
“Yes! Finally!” I flopped down on my chair and took a long deep breath. "Finally I finished writing that 200page essay that's due tomorrow for my grade in my philosophy midterm covering the difference of Eastern and Western philsosphy...agh, my brain hurts."
I took a glance at my poor-overworked printer, monotoneously spitting out page after page of typed text. "Eh, it can last..." I figured. I smiled at myself, figuring I had deserved to take a break on Solstice. I double-clicked the shortcut icon on my desktop to open the solstice launcher. Then I keyed in my password next to my email address and hit enter.
I just wanted to log on, bash some unsuspecting monster with illusion rocks, buff and heal newbies, and maybe, just maybe, level up my acolyte. At the rate I’m going, it will take forever to hit disciple hood…
The update window popped up, and the two loading bars slowly started to fill. Odd, I didn’t know there was an update today…oh well. Tilting my head to the side, I got up to grab a snack from the kitchen while I waited for the updates to finish.
The two partially empty bars immediately filled up with green pixels, and emptied itself again. I paused, looking at the update window. File names wizzed by underneath the two bars, disapearring in seconds. The two bars kept in time with the files, refilling only to empty out the next second.
Well, that’s pretty fast, even for a small update… I sat back down, figuring it should be done any second.
Then suddenly my screen went blank. Completely white. I waited a few second, but nothing happened. “Oh…snap…” I hit the esc key. "Oh come on..."
I jammed the esc key like crazy, but still nothing. “Are you kidding me?!?” rolling my eyes, I reached for the power button, ready to give my computer a manual shutdown.
*Blip*
I stopped, my finger hovering next to the power button. Slowly at first, random letters, numbers, and symbols started typing on my screen. Then the speed increased, creating lines of data. They filled up the entire screen, pushing off the first lines of text. Perplexed, I stared in confusion for a split second before I stabbed the power button on my computer. It had no effect; the codes kept on piling up. Oh no…is someone trying to hack my computer? When all else fails, go for the power plug.
I reached under my desk and yanked out the plug, but when I looked back at the screen, computer codes were still flashing by. “That’s…not…possible…” without any electricity my computer should shut down. Why was it still going?
The data stopped. I stared at the screen, watching in a state of horrified confusion as very slowly, five more lines typed itself out.

"What..the..heck?"
The lines vanished, and the screen blazed with intense white light. I stepped back in shock, terrified as to what had possessed my computer. I was suddenly overcome with a sense of dizziness. My muscles weakened, my sight blurred, and before I could do anything, I blacked out.

Chapter 1: The Naoket Aggro...
A bright sun shined down from above, filtering through the tall leafy branches. High above, birds chirped in the trees. A soft breeze whispered by, gently picking up loose brown leaves and swirled then around, before setting them down again.
Arrrghhh…very slowly, I opened my eyes a little. Green strips of grass and wildflower stood straight up before me. There was even a small little ant was trudging up a leaf blade, searching its surroundings with its antennas. I pushed myself up into a sitting position, rubbing my eyes with gloved hands.
Wait. I’m wearing gloves? Blinking, I stared down at my hands, enclosed in purple gloves. Gold threads were sewn along the wristlets, outlining a shiny embroidery.
“Where did these come from?” I wondered. Then I noticed gold trimmings outlining the edge of my purple shoes. And my purple dress.
“Huh??” perplexed, I stood up, brushing bits of dirt from my newly acquired costume. Something slipped a little on my forehead due to my sudden movement. Reaching up, I felt the hard outline of a coronet.
I yanked it off, and stared at it. It was silver, with metallic blue patterns fanning along the side. A small diamond was encrusted in the center, accentuated by an incline of silver. "What?"
It looked exactly like the helm for my acolyte.
Even the dress I was wearing was the one for my acolyte.
Shoes, gloves, everything, looked like the one from my acolyte.
“What in the world is going on?!?!” I was definitely creep out now. I placed the coronet back on, as I frantically looked around me. Tall trees stood up high, with long leafy branches stretched out toward the sky. A strand of dark blue hair fell in front of my face-
Wait a second. I have dark blue hair?!? I ran my hand through my hair, which was pulled up to a ponytail. I pulled the ponytail over my shoulder and stared at it. Dark blue.
Am…I…no, that’s crazy…
My hands fell to my side in disbelief, brushing against a small pouch I hadn’t noticed earlier. I looked down at it, which had the same distinctive purple and gold pattern as the rest of my dress. Amazed, I gingerly fingered the fancy design that was embroidered all around. It seemed as if it was as soft as silk.
“Mreow?”
I stopped, rooted to my spot. Hesitantly, I turned around to see where that sound had come from. My eyes widened. A creature covered in tan and chestnut fur, was eyeballing me with a very angry glare. From my vantage point I could see its pointy ears twitched, and its eyes narrowed. Very very slowly, I glanced down at the paws, which were lined with extremely sharp claws. Very very slowly, I glanced back at its face, and noted two distinct incisors glinting with saliva. A long tail swished behind it, indicating it was not very happy to see me.
“AAAIEEEEE!!!!!!!!” I bolted off in a run.
The naoket gave chase. Leaping down onto all fours, it dug its long claws into the earth. It bared its rows of sharp teeth, ready to chomp off my head when it got the chance.
“Oh snap snap snap snap SNAP! Someone help meeeee!!!!!” I ran through the trees as fast as I could, praying that a bolt of lightning would strike the naoket or something.
Thick brambles and sticks nicked me as I ran, slowing me down but having no effect on the naoket. It effortlessly leaped over every obstacle, gracefully jumping over fallen logs and ducking low branches. “HALP!!!!”
I scrambled over a moss-covered rock, but slipped and took the fall on my knees. The naoket took its chance and leaped forward.
I rolled out of the way, but not before the naoket was able to scrape me on the shoulder with its long claws. A sharp searing pain spread through my left shoulder blade. I cringed. Clumsily, I got up and sped off again.
Finally I broke out of the forest. A dirt path zigzagged off into the distance, before turning off to the left. I took a millisecond to gather my surroundings before the naoket came crashing next to me.
Startled, I jumped back and fell as the creature snapped at empty air where my arm had been only a few seconds ago. I rolled over and ran up the path, hoping it led to a safe zone or something. The trees noticeably dwindled as the path slowly inclined upward, and before long there were no more trees. I ran up a steep hill, and stopped dead, almost careening off the other side.
It wasn’t a hill, it was a cliff.
“Mreeeow….” I turned back to see the naoket slowly creeping over to me. Once it noticed I was hopelessly trapped, it had slowed its pursuit and was now pacing back and forth, blocking the one and only exit. “Nice kitty….”
“FFFFT!!!”
“Or…not…” I gritted my teeth, racking my brain for any method of escape. The naoket made its way up to me, and I could swear it was smiling. I took a quick glance downward, trying to see if I could survive the jump without breaking my neck. That idea was immediately tossed out once I noticed exactly how far up I was. It was a good two story drop to the bottom, and no cushioning but plenty of large rocks.
“Mreeeeorrr…”
I hesitated for a moment. Then I pointed at the naoket. “Spirit!” I yelled. The naoket paused in midstep, curiously staring at me. My heart fluttered for a minute. Maybe the spell worked?
Then the naoket smiled in amusement, giving a long “mreoww”. It closed its eyes and the shoulders shook a little, before it returned to pacing back and forth.
Did that thing just laugh at me?
“Naokets aren’t cute when the situation is like this…” I muttered under my breath. The naoket crouched, ready to leap. I took an accidental step backwards, almost slipping off. A few pebbles tumbled down from under my foot, sliding down the incline. I stared at the path the pebbles took, watching them fall and seeing them hit something I had missed.
I saw my answer.

Chapter 2: Can anyone help a noob?
I took my chances. I jumped down the cliff, sliding and tumbling along the side. My shoulder seared with pain every time it hit the rocks. Then I whacked into compacted dirt at the edge of another small cliff. Almost slipping off, I scurried back on the thin strip of earth.
Up above, the naoket peered down at me, obviously furious. Its body was too large to be supported by the small cliff, and the drop to the very bottom would definitely mean its death. It paced back and forth, glaring at me, before it finally giving up and sulkily walked away.
I gasped for air, too faze out to do anything else but take in deep gulps of precious air. I was cut up and bruised, my shoulder slashed, but I was alive. And at that moment that was all I could think about.
When I had finally cleared my head, I took a good look at my shoulder. The blood was beginning to clot up, and thankfully the wounds didn’t look too deep. But snap it hurts!! Even a small movement would send jabbing pain through my shoulder blade.
Now what do I do? As an aco, I should be able to heal myself, right? That would take care of my shoulder…
I looked at my shoulder. “Um….Minor Heal,” I said. I waited a few seconds, but nothing happened. “Minor
Heal!” I said a little more forcibly.
Still nothing happened.
“Uhh…Major Heal?” Right. Like that would do anything.
I fumed. I needed my wand in order to use magic right? But where was it? I was also pretty sure I carried a few hp potions in my inventory, but I didn’t have a bag or-
Then I remembered the small pouch slung around my waist. Could it be…?
With my uninjured arm, I pulled the pouch in front of me. But it was so tiny. I doubt it could carry anything. But I untied the strings anyway and opened the mouth. Three small pockets separated the space inside. I opened the one the in the middle to find…
“A shield and a wand?” My eyes widened in disbelief. The head of the wand glittered in the sunlight, and edge of a bronze and silver shield laid next to it in the tiny pocket. Gingerly, I pulled the wand out first, which in no understandable way could be in that little pouch in the first place. That pouch was the size of my fist, and the wand was the length of my arm.
“That’s impossible…” I laid the wand next to me, and then looked at the shield. The mouth of the pouch didn’t look like it would allow the shield to come out, but if it was able to get inside…
Very carefully, I took hold of the shield and pulled it out. The mouth of the pouch stretched until the entire shield was out, before reverting back to its normal size.
“Wow…” I set the wand and shield next to me and stared inside the pouch, trying to figure out where the pocket ended. Slowly, I inserted my hand into the pocket, searching for the borderline. The pouch easily slid up to my elbow. I waved my hand inside the pouch, feeling for anything. The cloth that had separated the pockets had already left my fingertips, too far (if they still existed) for me to reach. I brought the pouch up to my shoulder, submerging my entire arm into the little bag. I waved my arm around crazily, but there was absolutely nothing. With my other hand, I placed it at the bottom of the pouch, where theoretically my arm existed.
Ok, this is just too creepy. I pulled the pouch off my arm, and pulled the drawstrings tightly shut. No more ‘Harry-Potter-and-Solstice-hybrid-fantasy-magic-that’s-not-supposed-to-exist-but-obviously-does ’
I slipped the shield over my arm, and took up the wand. These things would have been sooo useful a few minutes ago…I looked at my shoulder again.
“Hmmm…Minor Heal!”
Soft red light slowly surrounded my being, convulsing with thick energy. A warm sensation engulfed my shoulder, followed with a soothing and cooling effect. I stared in amazement as the wound on my shoulder healed, and there wasn’t even a scar left behind. All that remained were tiny strips of torn cloth.
I took a deep breath and slowly let it out. That…was…amazing. A smile curved my lips. What else could I do with magic?
“Lemme see….Bless!! Fist up!!” I directed this newfound energy to myself.
First a golden cross illuminated above me, with beams of golden light flaring out. Then a bronze and gold muscular figure took the place of the cross, radiating intense magic. Once the golden light faded I noticed that I could feel a slight decrease of…energy? It must have been the mana…But now my armor and weapon was noticeably sturdier. It was worth it.
Now let me find that naoket… >;D
But first things first. I had to get out of here and find help.
I thought for a minute. Scrolls would work. I could use them to warp back to the city. Then from there I could hopefully get help.
I pulled my inventory pouch in front of me again, and loosened the drawstrings. So, the one for normal stuff should be the pocket on the left, right? I opened the pocket, ready to fish around for some return scrolls.
“YAARR!!”
“EEEK!!!”
Something orange leaped out of the pouch, smacking into me on my face and throwing me backwards. I stared into little black beady eyes that gleefully stared back at me.
“Po-Popsicle?”
“Yaaarrr!!!” the poko happily smiled at me, overjoyed to hear its name. He happily nudged my neck.
“Oh wow…” I muttered in disbelief. I pushed myself up into a sitting position. “You’re so darn cute!!”
“Yarr!!” he excitedly responded.
My jaw dropped in amazement. “well…at least now I’ll have some company.” I patted him on the head. He nuzzled my hand, as if he hadn’t seen me for centuries. I smiled.
“Ok now…I still need those scrolls.” I said, looking back into the pouch. A few bottles of potions and other stuff laid out at the top of the pocket. I dug around, trying to find the return scrolls. “Hey…”
There was no sign of parchment tied with a red ribbon, or green ribbon for that matter. I turned the pouch up-side-down dumping out the contents, strewing them out before me. Seeing no scrolls, I searched the rest of the bag, but found nothing.
So much for that idea…
I scooped the contents back into the pouch, wonder what else could be used to get myself out of this mess. My eyes rested on the small white eggs that still laid on the ground.
I picked one up, putting the rest back into the pouch. Maybe I could shout for help?
So now I shall eat eggs and be able to scream to everyone within close proximity….bleah. What more weirdness could happen today?
“Ok….” Now what?
I shook the egg next to my ear. No jiggling liquidly sounds. So it was hard-boiled.
I made a small crack in the middle of the eggshell and peeled the shell off. Popsicle curiously sniffed the eggshells, than equally curiously looked up at me. “Yar?”
“Cover your ears, Pop,” I said. Clean of its shell, I carefully took a bite into the egg. It was actually pretty good. I swallowed it and waited. “Uhh…hello?” Nothing.
Popsicle tilted his head, confused with the fact that I didn’t know how to use white eggs. “Yaar??”
I looked at Popsicle and then at the egg. “Do I have to eat the whole thing?”
Popsicle stared at me as if I came from a different planet.
“Ok, ok,” I muttered. I ate the rest of the egg. Nothing felt different.
“OK I—WOAH!! UH…UM...I’M AN ACO STUCK HERE SOMEWHERE IN THE MAP!! IF YOU CAN, COME AND HELP ME!! ANYONE!! UHHH….I’M BY A CLIFF!! SO YAH I NEED HELP!!”
My voice reverted back to normal after the shout. “Ok…that was weird…”
Popsicle just rolled his eyes.

Chapter 3: Not Helping Poko!
Waiting…
Waiting…
Even more waiting……
I sighed. I had already used three more white eggs, and no one had come by. To make matters worse, I could have sworn that I saw one of those zombie-antler-jaguar hybrids walking around the bottom of the cliff. I didn’t know if it was an aggro, but if it was, I was trapped. There was no way I could climb back up the cliff, and going down didn’t look very appeasing either. Even more irritating was that even with all my searching, all of my warp and return scrolls had somehow disappeared from my bag. My only hope was that someone would come by and help me.
“No one is going to come, huh?” I said, looking at Popsicle “Oh geez…will you stop that?!? You’re making me go crazy!!”
Popsicle looked back at me, as he laid at the edge of the cliff with his two front paws over the edge. For the last half hour he had been trying to reach a little branch that was a few inches from his grasp. Already he had slipped off the cliff, and if it wasn’t for me grabbing his tail and yanking him back to safety, I would be minus one pet.
“Get back over here,” I ordered, scooting over to him and picking him up. “Honestly, don’t you ever learn?”
“Yaar?” he answered, giving me an innocent puppy-dog look.
“Stop trying to act cute with me,” I said irritably.
He tilted his head, giving a blank naïve smile.
I rolled my eyes. “Sometimes I wonder if you’re really worth five yellow watermelons…and a cup of juice…”I muttered to myself.
“Yarrr??”
“Oh please!” I snapped. “Do you have any idea how much kron I had to fork over for your existence? All what you ever did was follow me around!! And now that I am stuck here in the land of Xen, which isn’t even supposed to exist, you haven’t done anything useful! All you do is say yar yar yar! And for the last half hour you keep getting on my nerve!! You wanna fall off the cliff? Fine! I won’t stop you anymore!”
“Yaarrr…” a little tear trickled down his eye.
“Go ahead and cry. See if I care!” I angrily folded my arms and looked the opposite direction.
Poko sniffed. “Yaaar?” He blinked back his tears, before his face wrinkled up and he let out a sob.
I took a small glance at my pet. “Oh…no…”
“No no no, don’t cry…” I bit my tongue, regretting my outburst.
He let out a long mournful wail. “No no no,” I said, full of guilt. “Please don’t cry. I take back what I said. You’re an awesome pet. I’m sorry, Poko.”
I picked him up and hugged him. “I’m just a little anxious right now…please don’t cry.” He choked back his sobs. “I’m sorry. I would have bought 50 yellow watermelons and a gallon of juice for you.”
“Yaar?” he asked.
“Yes, really I would have,” I said, setting him down. “Just for my sake, stay away from the cliff edge please?”
Popsicle smiled at me, obediently walking away from the cliff edge.
“Good Poko Pop. Now, since we’re obviously going to be waiting for awhile, I’m gonna take a nap. Wake me up if someone comes, ok?”
Popsicle nodded. I scooted over to the side and tried to make myself as comfortable as I could on solid earth. Before I closed my eyes I took one last good look at Popsicle, making sure he was away from the cliff edge.
Popsicle patiently waited until I was fast asleep, and quietly made his way back to the cliff edge. He returned to his attempts of grabbing that little branch.
I know, I know. This update is short and nothing interesting happened in the end...except my disobedient pet...XD But I promise you, more is to come.
And...if I see someone reply before I go offline, I might be tempted to post the next chapter... ^^

Chapter 4: Off the Cliff!!
I woke up to a bright sun, and a stiff neck. I yawned, pushing myself up. Wow, I slept for a long time…why isn’t it dark?
I squinted at the sun, which hadn’t changed position since I came here. Oh wait…I remember.
Time was stopped in the land of Xen, so it was always daytime. The only reason why people and monsters weren’t motionless statues was because of the magic that created an artificial environment.
I sighed. Half of me was hoping I would just wake up from a bad dream; so far things were not going well. But, here I was, still trapped as a spell-casting acolyte in the fantastical world of Xen.
I looked over at my pet, and my eyes widened in horror. He was by now halfway off the edge of the cliff.
“Poko!! Get out of there!!” Popsicle gave a quick glance over his shoulder, seeing that I was awake. I started for him, trying to grab his heart-shaped tail before he would fall off. Instead he then edged further off the cliff and violently twisted his head. I heard a sharp distinctive snap. He slumped over, droopily hanging over the edge.
“POKO!!” Fearing the worst, I reached out and grabbed his limp body, dragging him off the cliff edge. “No, my little poko—”
“yaaaar…” he looked up at me, panting heavily. In his mouth he carried a long leafy branch, and shrouded within the leaves was a bright glob of orange fruit that I hadn’t noticed before.
He proudly dropped the fruit on my lap, and took a step back. “yaar!!”
I blinked. It was a large tangerine, ripe and bursting with color. “Did you go through all that trouble just for me?” I asked.
He nodded, nudging the fruit into my hand. “Oh wow, poko,” I said, impressed. “Thank you so much. That’s so sweet.”
I hadn’t even realized how hungry I was. I yanked the fruit off of the branch, and eagerly removed the peeling. I pulled a slice out and took a bite into the luscious fruit. “Mmm.”
I didn’t forget about my pet. I broke off another piece of fruit and handed it out to him. But instead, he merely sniffed it and shook his head. “You don’t want some?” I asked.
He pushed my hand away, insisting that I have the entire fruit. “Hmm…come to the think of it, you don’t eat, do you.” I asked.
He shook his head. Then he gave me a peculiar look, puzzled that I didn’t already know this.
“Oh…well…if you say so,” I said, nibbling on another piece of fruit.
“Yaar! Yaar!!” he cried, as he proudly waltzed over back to the cliff edge. “What is it?” I asked, stuffing the rest of the fruit into my bag for later. He pointed over the edge. “Yar yar!!” I crawled over to him. “You found a way down?” I asked eagerly.
He nodded, and pointed far below the cliff. “What is it?” I asked. From my vantage point I couldn’t see any safe path to get down. “Yar yar yar yar!!” he happily chattered.
Crrrrrk-
“Huh?-”
CRACK!
“AAAAK!!”
Unbeknownst to me, Poko had led me to the far edge of not what was a cliff, but a large boulder that was stuck between the cliff wall and the cliff itself. My added weight had caused its hold to loosen, and come crashing down.
“AAAAAAIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!”
I seized the edge of the boulder as it skidded down the slope, riding over the deadly sharp rocks. “AAAK!!” Then the boulder slammed into a large tree trunk, jolting me to a stop.
I didn’t move for a full minute, and just sat there in shock. “Yar yar yar yar yar!”
“Poko…you…oh forget it. You did get us down….” I gave him an although-not-in-a-preferred-manner look. He happily ran around me in circles, overjoyed at his impeccable scheme.
“Well, let’s get a move on.” I said, brushing my dress and fixing my hair. “Come on poko.”

High up in the trees a neophyte quietly materialized, canceling out his invisibility. His eyes calculatingly watched mefrom his safe shroud of leaves. When I was out of eyesight, he silently leaped from his perched, landing at the base of the tree. It didn’t take him long to work out the probability of my destination, and with that in mind, he withdrew a dagger that had been hidden in his sheath. He quickly took an alternate shortcut through the trees to catch up to me, and complete what he was set out to do.

Because you guys were so nice with your reviews, (and the fact that I didn't update for a couple of weeks) I'm posting the next chapter right now!
Chapter 5: Who are you?
I walked through the tall trees, avoiding any monster that I saw. Most monsters that saw me took interest in another path, having no desire to be an aggro. It was too much of a nuisance to take on every single aggro, so the few that i did aggro quickly found themselves surrounded by a large whispy cloud and no longer had the desire to fight.
“It’d be nice if I actually new where I was going…” I muttered, circling the 100th tree, ducking the 1000th branch, and spiriting the 5000th aggro. Popsicle was contently following my every footstep, completely oblivious to the danger around him. Sometimes he would race ahead and impatiently wait for me to catch up. After about 2 seconds of waiting, he would race back to me only to bolt off in another direction.
“Goodness, where do you get all your energy?” I asked him, after he had returned to me again. “You’re like a whizzing orange puff of fluff.”
^_^ was his only response.
Snap.
I whipped around with wand in hand. “Spiri-!!” I yelled, pointing to the location of the sound. But I caught myself in mid-cast. A neophyte stood in plain sight before me, dagger in one hand, shield in the other.
“Oh…sorry…I thought you were another monster,” I said, letting my arm fall to my side.
He made no response, just stood there glaring at me.
“Uhmm…hello?” I asked uncertainly.
“BLINDESIDE!!!!” he yelled. He leapt forward with his dagger raised up high. Startled, I leaped out of the path of the dagger, but not before his spell hit me. Stinging poison splashed into my eyes, blinding me.
My eyes teared from the pain as the poison seeped into my eyes. I blinked rapidly, trying to clear my vision. “P-poison clear!” I cried out, directing the magic onto me.
He was upon me. He raised his dagger high, ready to cast his next attack. “Threa-”
“ILLUSION QUAKE!!!” I stabbed my wand at him. A gigantic transparent rock instantly materialized above him, and came crashing down. A cry of startle passed his lips, as he braced himself from the attack. Dust was kicked up as the attack hit him straight on. He crumpled down, temporarily shocked from the effect.
I didn’t waste my time. I leaped out of the way, setting a good distance between myself and my attacker. “BLESS! FIST UP!” then I pointed at the neophyte. “ILLUSION QUAKE!!!”
He stared up into the sky and screamed. The gigantic rock came bellowing down, slamming into him. Stumbling, he tried to make his way to me as I blasted him again and again with my attack. Blood was starting to come out of his nose “Threat-”
“SPIRIT!!!”
He crumpled to the floor, lost without the will to fight. I sped off another direction, placing more distance between him and myself. “Amplification!”
The white light flared out around me. I forced myself to wait out for the cast to complete. Already, the neo was regaining his strength. He picked himself up from the ground. “Enhance! Accuracy! Rapid Step!” he yelled casting his buffs.
“ILLUSION QUAKE!!” I screamed out my attack, but this time he was ready. He dodged my spell, rolling out of the way. He leapt forth. “THREATEN!!!”
I threw up my shield, and his dagger slammed into it, digging deep into the metal. I blinked for a minute, suprised that his attack could cut through my shield as if it was only wood. I pulled my shield back, but with his hand still on his dagger, he also attempted to pull his weapon out of my shield. I pulled my wand back, and slammed the head of it into his face. He grunted, and threw up his own shield, blocking my next hit.
We stood in deadlock, struggling against each other. “Antibuff!” I yelled, removing his enhanced skill. “Spiri-”
Finally he yanked his dagger out of my shield, and gave a quick swipe, catching me off guard. I stepped back from the blow. That was all the time he needed. “Invisible!!!”
He dematerialized. I blinked, confused for a minute. I turned around, trying to distinguish any sign of his whereabouts. All I could hear was myself gasping for air. “Show Yourself!!” I yelled.
Silence engulfed the clearing. The hot sun beat down from above, exposing every shadow within the forest. I scanned my surroundings, trying to find something that could confirm his location.
Snap.
“Hyaah!” I whipped around a slammed my wand down at empty air. I stood there, waiting.
“I antibuffed you, so you can’t dodge my attacks as much anymore,” I called out. “Show yourself!”
“No.”
I turned around, trying to distinguish the location of his voice. I hesitated. “Why did you attack me?” I demanded.
“It is my duty.”
I turned my head to the opposite direction from where I had pinpointed the voice. I pretended to continue to search. “What duty? Who told you?” I asked.
“You are an adequate fighter.”
“Compliments don’t work on a girl if you’re in trouble,” I answered. I started to back up, but continued to look straight ahead.
“My comment was not designed as a compliment,” he replied.
“Oh. So you are insulting me? That’s even worse for your health.”
“No, I was not insulting you either.”
“Doesn’t matter!” I turned around, and struck at the air. My wand made contact with something solid. “Arrgh!” he cried out, blocking my attack with his shield. He lashed out in counterattack.
I smiled. He stood in front of me, no longer invisible. Confused, he blinked, not understanding why I was staring straight into his eye. “Gotcha. SPIRIT!!”
He crumpled down in defeat for the third time. I quickly sped off to cast my next attack. “Why—must you always—use spirit?!?”
“Because it’s effective,” I replied. “Illusion Quake!!”
He fell to his hands and knees, unable to take the toll. “Illusion Quake! Illusion Quake! Illusion Quake!”
“AAARGH!!!!!” he helplessly stumbled across the ground. “Invisible!!” he cried out desperately. He vanished a second time.
I stopped my attacks. I stood there, waiting. After a good five minutes passed, I slowly I let out a sigh. “Guess he’s gone now…”
Slowly, I sat down on the ground, trying to regain my strength. “Hey wait a minute. Poko? Where are you?”
I turned around. “Pokooo…”
A tiny little squeak sounded from behind a bush. “Poko?”
I got up, and walked over to where I heard the sound. Pushing aside some leaves, I found the small furball. “Popsicle!”
He was shaking in fear, too frightened to even look up. “Poko, it’s ok,” I said. “The neo is gone.”
He dared a small peep before glancing at me. “Aw, you poor thing…” I whispered. I picked him up. He hid in my arms, refusing to even look up.
Eventually he calmed down, and I settled him on the ground. “Feel better?” I asked stroking his ears.
He looked around himself nervously. “Yaar?”
“Come on. Lets go.” I said. “Just stay close to me, and no more running off. Ok?”
He gave a hesitant nod, and obediently followed my footsteps. Together, we continued on our way which I hoped was out of the forest.
------
The neophyte stared down below, watching in defeat as I made my way out of the forest. His entire body ached, and his mind was still in a state of shock. He struggled to twist his hip-pack from his back to his side.
He opened the flap of his bag extracted a large glass flask, full of red liquid. Eagerly, he uncorked it, and drained the contents into his mouth. Slowly he could feel energy returning to his limbs and the pain in his muscles numb.
This was harder than he expected. He was going to need help.

Those chapters were really great, dragonfly! I loved the battle scene you had in the fifth chapter, it was really descriptive! Keep up the good work and hope you update soon! :D
oh and the only other thing I noticed at the end of the chapters when you switched to the neo's POV, I don't think you should have the "I", "my", or "me" in there. Since it's not in your POV anymore, but in the neo's, it should be in third person's POV (since you've already written the neo's POV in third person's), so how you would describe yourself (in the neo's or any other characters' POV) should be "her", "she", or "the girl acolyte" or something along those lines. Hope that made sense. ^^;;;
But these are some things I've noticed, if you like writing in the style you are now, it's fine too since it's up to you on how to write it. :)

Sorry guys but it looks like I'm going to have to put a long hold on this story...(as if it wasn't obvious already >.<) I've just been waay too busy to do any real solstice fanfic writing, and sorry for getting you're hopes up on my last post. But don't worry, one of these day's I'll come back to it because I'm not done with it, so keep checking. ^^

Truthfully? I stumbled across this by accident.
And whether you like this or not, I'm going to be completely honest with you. This is not the best thing I've ever read - and you're probably not going to contest that. However, not being the best doesn't mean not good. You have talent, take it from me (Let's just say I have a background in writing and publishing). Keep up the good work, and if it isn't to much trouble, use names or nicknames for some of the characters - I understand that by this point where your story is at the moment no one has been named, except Popsicle (Which I will assume is like the Fiesta MiniCaptain - because of the incessant Yarr!-ing).
I do not play solstice - so forgive my ignorance on some things, but as far as the writing is concerned you have talent (forgive me for I have said this already) - I will assume you have been writing for no greater a span of time than three years, probably shorter (forgive me if I am wrong). By writing I mean sitting down consistantly and writing chuncks of a story at a time, not just doodling (yes you can doodle stories) and scribbling down ideas and etc.
Keep up the work, you shall have my support.

Well, I am coming back. I hope this thread can be brought back from the graveyard of dead fanfics. >.<;; I'll try my best to revive it...
Heck, I'm an aco! I can fix this! Even if..I don't exactly have a revive skill yet...cuz, I'm still aiming for disc...yeah...gosh I suck at leveling!! >.<;;;;

No insult taken. ;) I'm not happy with what I wrote, and I'm going to do some serious editing before I do some serious updating. And yes, cameos, all of you are still in. But if you want out just tell me and I'll remove you from the list.
