patching from back in 2007?

i downloaded, installed and started playing SotS a couple of days ago and yet logging on today i;ve started to download patches back from 2007. any reason for this?

Sweet I fixed my problem! Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. that worked for me.

FYI: If the reinstall flops on you, patching from the date of the version you're mirroring might be necessary. I had to before they issued the final bug fixes after the server switch fiasco, but it worked for me. Good luck! :)
