Created a mage and it apears that you can finish any quest only with fighters or clerics the mages should have do more damage or at least burn or freeze when using related powers.
several playes finish kingdoms quests only with a party of figthers and clerics you should balanced a little so everyone his need it!

Mages do just fine oO. Just learn to kite. While you're not going to be able to "look" like you're helping out on the kq just because you're not the tanker or the healer who are the core of the team, your backup damage could be going even higher than the main tank's.
Also, mages are able to "burn" and "freeze". The "burn" you're talking about is probably damage over time. Lightning skills have a chance of causing damage over time along with instantaneous damage to the enemy. "Freezing" can be done with ice skills, which slow the enemy's walking speed by a certain percentage.

Mages are actually one of the more powerful professions in the game. Team them up with a cleric and watch spells fly like mad. Deadly combo when you put those two together.

Mages ARE the most damaging class in the game. You might not notice at lower levels so much but after 20 you start to get the picture and after 30 its just sick... cant wait for 40+ :D

i'm now level 21 and with ca cleric giving support almst nothing can stop me!
it's difficult at the beginning but i can't wait to get that fireball power in my hands!

check my answer on this same day at another thread.
i'm starting to think that the cleric is the most favored class in game and that's a little out of balance.
clerics heal themselves but if you get no cleric to help you, you're stuck in your place and don't risk far cause you die and loose exp.
a player with a cleric just posted that he can take monsters all alone and that shows my point.
i think mages could have the skill to leech life so it wouldn't be so dificult to level up.
it would balance things a bit.

true tat cleric can solo all the way if they are pure end built..but they take 2x to 2.5x time the speed needed to kill a mob compare to mage ( Based on 3x cleric soloing and 3x mage soloing at MT ) If you are comparing exp per hour rate disgarding hp/sp stone used .. u will be lvling faster then a cleric would solo although you will be spending money more...but hey... at lvl 3x you will be making 2-4s per exp grind run anyway so...i guess its still worth it :)
PS : Reason why some mage couldnt solo its because they fail to use combo to their advantage ... MM1 + ICE + MM1 + Fire + MM1 + Lighting + AOE + MM1 usually is the best Combo to take down a slightly stronger mob :)

You know what outspark CAN do to improve this game? They should have it so that monsters have resistances. Like what the hell is the point of elemental spells (besides ice bolt) if you just wanna do DoT (dmg over time) or burst dmg... Lightning has nothing to do with DoT's, but i understand that fire is a great burst dmg spell, as in most other games.
I'm hoping outspark would change fiesta so that when fighting monsters, you can deal increased or decreased dmg depending on the elemental type, otherwise there is no point in making elemental spells besides for the "variety" factor. A suggestion to outspark is that they should make counter elemental spells deal like 1.5x more dmg... ie fire deals 1.5x to ice based creatures, lightning deals 1.5x to water based creatures, and ice deals 1.5x to fire type creatures (and also slowing units down). That would also balance out magic missile (since it has no element type, therefore it would not get bonuses from any creatures) as it seems to be way stronger than all but the fire spell, hands down.
On top of bonus damage, there should be decreased damage for creatures of the same element. Its amazing to me how fire mushrooms are more susceptible to fire than to ice... or how ice deals the same dmg to crabs and boogys as it does to other creatures... Like the previous idea, the creators of fiesta should make it so that when fighting a creature with the same element type as the spell you are casting, then it should deal only 1/2 of the original damage.
Also, they should increase the bonus damage of spells because I see a very small difference between a level 4 maxed dmg magic missile and a level 1 maxed dmg magic missile. I deal about 200-300 dmg with a rank 4 missile and about 150-200 with a rank 1 missile. Plus the cooldown is so much slower for the rank 4 spell and the SP consumption is Bull...
Here is why:
If you can caste about 3 rank 1 magic missile for every 1 rank 4 magic missle, you consume 32-3(3)=23 SP less and also, you deal 3(150)-300=150 more. Therefore, outspark needs to balance spells a bit too.
*Also, it seems to me that magic scrolls dont do much... and also, they gotta fix the damage to be like consistent. I hit like 2000 on slimes 2-3 levels ago and now i easily hit 3500 on them, non-crits, even with my upgraded rune wand. Based on WoW (which is like fiesta, but more thoroughly thought out), I feel safe to say that overall, this game is good and free, but lacks SERIOUS essences of other great games.

just saying.. clerics cannot always solo. they need a nuker... which would be the mage or fighter. personally, i don't know why your complaining... yes, the ideas for resistance are good, but imagine people just buying like ice or fire spells and just train at a specific area. is'nt that gonna mean that some areas will be overpacked?

i play both a mage and cleric, and i disagree, my cleric can solo just about everything. although in areas with large mobs things get hairy. But then again he's built more as a party cleric anyways...

Same, my Mage (pure SPR) can't kill bigger Mobs and even if i use my Ice Spell for slowing and Potions i can barely kill a Keebing Speeder at 26 (no Empoweres yet) but my lvl 21 Cleric (pure end) can kill them without big Problems, tho my Mage is a lilttle bit better Equiped.
Actualy changeing Lightning would be a first smart Idea... high cooldown since lvl 1 and VERY high SP compared to all other Spells, the DoT is just a chance u shouldnt count it in and as all Spells DMG diff between 1 and 4 is nearly not noticable.
My Mage is goin to do KQ only for lvling unless a Freind who plays Cleric is looking for share... and sometiems trying to do Quests... but even reaching Gold Slimes is not so easy and sometiems needs recovery.
Less Cooldown for Lightning aswell allways DoT.
Improve the Ice Effekt, may aswell change Ice to be useless/weaker against Water/Ice Type.
Either total freezing on the Position or even less Movement Speed oder Time would work allready, keep in mind that this should not apply to PvP or it would be too strong!

Hmm I have 28 cleric n 30 Mage. Cleric is definitely easier, but i have more fun on Mage! Be sure to empower some skills. atm i only have fire bolt dmg n missle cooldown empowered, but it helps a lot. My tip if i cant get a party member or just wanna solo is just be willing to pot/stone, and those vit scrolls are worth the money~ I do that when im "growing into" an area. Also don be cheap, get the pink house, I didnt get it till 29 ane when i saw how much better it really was I was ashamed of the cheapness xD
Just doing KQ will get slow ;/ I get way less then one bubble in one now. but they are definitely good help.
But... cleric can do anything, they just take long time to do it, so cleric would be pleased to party with a nuker =D
Oh, and even if you don have a cleric, I have duo with Fighter, monsters die so fast that they never have a chance to cause dmg, and I dont often pull agro. And im Spr so I probably make fighter work for it coz i crit lots.

i dont want to empower cuz i try to keep the Points for Skills like Fireball, not sure if my EMpowers of Bolt would increase Ball.
And i got 2 Clerics to team, still cant do a lot alone.
The "better" House increases ur recovery???? O.O gotta buy it soon ><'.

A quick word, if I may.
I realize some of you might be going "zOMG mages r t3h strong damage", pointing out the high damage output of mages above 30.
You are forgetting the insane amount of HP mobs start having at the mid-game. To the tune of thousands. Even with all your spells maxed, you will not be able to kill a mob 1-2-3-4-5 unless they are almost grey to you. And even then. And that's only in MT. We'll leave out mobs beginning from CP since those are entirely different beasts. Or we could talk about them for more perspective.
So yes. I do over 400+ damage on Harkans with a crit, but that matters little. I need to crit them a bazillion times for them to drop. Kite, you say? All aggro areas leave barely any room to do that. Meanwhile clerics my level are running rampant surviving up to 3 of those at a time. Mages seem powerful, but since we lack any sort of recovery or keep-away skills, we're actually mostly useless alone.
