I believe that Fiesta might have a Trojan Virus in it, or it's being forcefully downloaded into my computers by someone or something in-game. I have 2 computers that I play Fiesta on. The first time I noticed the viruses was on my laptop, there was a total of 4 Trojan Viruses along with a bunch of cookies. I did a virus sweep on my desktop computer as well and found 7 Trojan Viruses. I quaratined and removed all these viruses and cookies from both computers. At first I did not think that it could have been caused by Fiesta. So I did a minor "test" to see if Fiesta really was the cause. Therefore I did not play Fiesta on my laptop for 5 days and played Fiesta on my Desktop Computer instead. After those 5 days I did a sweep of both computers. My Desktop, which I have been playing Fiesta on only..no web surfing..nothing but Fiesta gameplay, had 17 Trojan Viruses and well over 20 cookies. On my laptop, which I have not played Fiesta on it at all...I just used it mainly for school stuff and surfing the web, had no viruses or cookies.

If you guys could please check up on this and see what the issue is, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks alot for your guys' hard work!

Some AV programs WILL give you false hits. I've been playing Fiesta since CB1 and haven't had any viruses pop up at all. I have my computer set to scan 3 times a week and I haven't gotten a hit yet. What virus scanner are you using?

I tested this just now with AVG Free Edition and Kaspersky's online scanner.

The install program (full almost 600 meg) and the Fiesta game folder have both scanned clean.

PROTIP: Cookies are basically files that save preferences for certain websites, such as logins or passwords. If you have cookies on your computer, you've browsed the internet at sometime or another.

Someone could be using your computer. Even then, cookies aren't viruses, so your virus scanner could just be over-reacting to something that isn't a threat.

I have Spy Sweeper with Antivirus, and It's not the cookies that are bothering me, its the Trojan Virus itself =/
And I live alone so I know that No one else is using my computers but me.
Ill do another scan tonight and see if I gotten any more viruses. I switched over to playing Fiesta on my laptop ONLY and using the desktop for websurfing. I wanna see if I'll get a trojan virus tonight on my laptop. Ill let you guys know what happens.

i posted about this once before. Its called a False Positive. Its just something in the code that causes some Virus scanners to "THINK" there is a virus, when there really isnt.

I use AVG Antivirus and Avast, plus Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware. I run all 4 of them, once a week on my PC. I just did my regular scan friday, and nothing came up. I play Fiesta almost every day.

ok let me type this slow, because I know you cant read fast.....

There are only 2 ways to get a Virus on your PC.
1) A hacker hacks his way into your PC and plants one. (Highly Unlikely, unless he REALLY hates you, or he thinks your someone important)
2) This one is more likely, Surfing the Web. If your not surfing the web, you cant get a virus.

I can take a PC, with a fresh install, put no protection on it. No Virus scanners, no spyware detection. Hook it up to the net and leave it for a year. dont touch it at all, Not even to play solitare. Just let it sit there, and then after a year, run virus scan and spyware detection on it, and it will come up clean.

Just being hooked up to the internet doesnt mean your going to get a virus.

If you have no antivirus or firewall, whats to stop hackers from getting in? Most hackers dont hack people because they either know you, or dislike you. Chances are, they dont even know you, but hey, hack first ask questions later.

If they can hack you, they will. They dont routinely hack random people, but rather go through an IP list. If they bounce off your firewall, they move onto the next IP.

But ye, I sincerely doubt Fiesta would infect people with a malicious virus. Sometimes antivirus/firewall programs do mistake games for a virus/hack intrusion and you can change the setting to allow the port access for Fiesta.

uh yea, if you say so...

Look anarchy, we can either start bouncing off one another disagreeing with what each others saying and we can continue to get topics shut down, or we can just leave each other alone.

Now I can understand if its something Major, but lets leave the petty stuff alone.

You can think how hackers do their stuff your way, Ill think mine and lets just keep the topic in the direction it needs to move.

Sound fair enough for you?

I did a virus scan last night after playing the whole day, doing NOTHING but playing fiesta on the laptop and I only used my desktop for finishing up some school work (Did not surf the web on both computers). THe desktop had no viruses or cookies at all, however the laptop had 9 cookies and no viruses....now im just confused =(

Of course you'll get some cookkies... When you load the launcher.. the messages you see...are web based. Haven't you ever noticed if the web site is down... that will come up blank with a script error?

O.O actually I've never noticed that...I always check on the site before I log into Fiesta so if the site is down here I dont even bother logging in....HmMmm but that doesn't explain the recent trojan viruses...Meh..I'll just keep scanning for viruses everynight so it doesnt multiply if i do get one XD
