I'm one of those people experiencing the "Your sharp launcher is out of date. Please download and run the latest outspark sharp launcher installer". I've done the steps needed for reinstalling fiesta with the new launcher patch (uninstall all components, clear temp folders, etc). I believe that the reason that this is not working for me and others who have tried this is that the download currently on the download page (as of October 04, 2008) is "FiestaFull-1_205_0.exe", which is not the up-to-date version. For this reason, you do not get the up-to-date spark launcher. In simple terms, the download on the site isn't the current one so you don't get the current spark launcher when installing.
Too much typing yet? Well there is more...
Because the re-installation with current version method doesn't work, I tried the manual patches to see if they'd help, but they also have a problem (boy, Fiesta sure doesn't like my computer). I'll get the message "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."
I've been able to fix the out of date sharp launcher before by reinstalling Fiesta with the current version, but since the version for download on the game download page is 1_205_0 and not the current version, it doesn't work. The manual launcher patches don't work either. I just can't think of anything else that I haven't tried already.
One simple workaround to this whole thing would be to upload the latest version of Fiesta onto the download page. I also believe that if it is possible, you may want to try making a separate installation for the sharp launcher. This way, we will be able to download the sharp launcher by itself and not have to re-download and install the ENTIRE game, which is very time-consuming.
My operating system is Windows XP and I know Fiesta would work if I could get the launcher up-to-date, because its always worked on my computer before.
I sincerely appreciate those people who have taken the time to read this and offer help. I give my thanks to the staff of Outspark for trying their best to make all of their games a fun experience for the players. I apologize if there is WAY too much typing in this post.
Thank you for your time!
