View Full Version : Another Decision That Favors Those Who Break The Rules

As I predicted, the "Blue Weapons' will be left in the game.

So why is this a bad thing?

For what it is worth, this is my opinion on the issue.

While leaving the Blues in the game may be good for those that have them it ignores the fact that that they were obtained by a bug exploit.
The community was informed by the CSRs and GMs not to participate in any transaction involving Blues because they would in fact be removed from the game.

So because of this recent decision, who are the people getting punished?
The people who chose to put credence in what they were told by the Outspark staff and abide by the ruling, that's who.
While the people who chose to ignore the ruling and purchase and sell the blues obtained from the bug are being rewarded with game money and rare weapons.

Now please tell me how anyone can have any confidence in what they are told by Outspark staff the next time something like this happens?

Go right ahead and flame me or delete the thread or whatever you want to do to me but in doing so please at least put forth an intelligent counter argument as to why you believe I am wrong about this.

I completely agree that they should have followed through with their announcement...but how are you missing out? This means that the market is still flooded with blues, so they are still cheap. At least they have been on Teva...

The issue I have with them not deleting blues is with the fact that they banned players over this, and now they aren't even following through. I think those accounts need to be reinstated immediately.

This looks likes governement issues that I saw many times in the past....

The strange thing in this issue is that they took too long to decide. Now imagine in a situation of "Privileged Information". If "someone" was aware, some days ago, that the blues were not to be deleted anymore?

I hope that this "blues" order and counter-order was caused by disorganization alone. However, I know politicians ways very well so I can't avoid to be suspicious about this.

To make things worse, players who were blamed as scammers are now requesting return.

The crime of selling blues is not a crime anymore, so a legal principle, used in some countries, say that any law issued after the crime may be applied if the retroactive application benefits the accused person. On the other hand, some countries prohibits retroactive effects for the good or for the bad.

If blues are not to be deleted there is no crime in selling blues. If there is no crime in selling blues there can't be a punishment. But Outspark does not need to agree with it, they may say that it was a scam at that time and scammers were punished accordingly.

Not for the first time OS goes against community.
To be honest i might say couple harsh words but will this change anything...
However i doubt if they acknowlegde that they did make a mistake and unbann people who have been banned because of "Blues issue".
We shall see if OS will make any statement but i have very slime hope...

Since I saw the announcement, I keep writing and re-writing angry rants on the subject... just to delete them and say nah, that's too harsh. Nah, that'll get me in trouble. Nah, that'll get the post deleted (sure are lots of posts getting deleted lately... not even just closed, but flat-out deleted). I'm angry at, and disappointed in, Outspark. What else is there to say. If they don't want the game to fall apart, they'd better do something to fix themselves and correct the two big blows that they just did to their name (a.k.a. this and firing Dakkon), or else the amount of players quitting will grow.

I understand why Outspark has decided to let the blue's flow; I mean, think about it.

-Going through thousands of accounts to find a few items and delete them is not an effective way to get the job done, and the reason is simple: Once they're gone from your account, you can always do the KQ again and get them back (unless the drop rate of the blue weapons were dropped to 0%).

-Putting the servers down to correct the problem will take a load of time; it is a loss of money, and as we all know, it also means an angry community pondering when the server will be back up again.

-Writing a code to do a general wipe of the blue weapons will probably result in a bug, or other items from the inventory getting wiped, which means, more problems for Outspark and their GM's. As a result, the GM's will spend countless hours rewarding player's with lost items, WHICH ALSO MEANS not being able to attend to matters that actually need attention (and that's only because they take care of problems one by one, so you're gonna be in line for a while).

Sure, the blue weapon price shot up... personally, I don't think any of you should invest money on a KQ GM blue; the stats aren't that great... the only way I'd invest in one is if it was a +9 and it had a bonus critical obtained from a license. Then it would definitely be worth the money.

Otherwise, save your money for a real blue. Those are always praised way much more for their better stats.

The problem isn't a possibility; the problem is the amount of time and the following problems that will come from deleting the weapons. There just isn't time for that, and of course, I'm speaking as if I were working for Outspark; huge loss of time that will affect the community, and if using a patch to remove them, chances that the patch will be 100% fail-safe are slim. It could result in real blues getting deleted, hence, more waste of time for the Outspark team. It just isn't worth it.
