View Full Version : Getting ridiculous...

So last night my party and I were at burning hill, hunting the giant marlone and lvling. Well when some of our members ran into some aggros they ran away. Well they ended up dying along with the rest of party, so we started laughing about it (it was rather funny our whole party died). Well I guess the aggros killed another party and MimutRice made a post and complained to the GM that we did that on purpose. Well one of the GMs, i dont know which sent our whole party to a "restricted area" without reason or for how long we would be there. I found that pretty unproffesional, but thats just my opinion. I have been trying to contact a gm in game and through a private message, but no response...I think this was all a misunderstanding that was taken to far. I would appreciate some kind of feedback and answers.

Thanks.

I agree that maybe the penalty was a tad harsh. But, running from mobs and training them on other people is not good. Either on purpose or by accident. Simply don't run. Stand and fight. If it would have been me that you trained them on I would have been mad to.You aren't the only people playing in that area. Have some common courtesy. If someone agro's a bunch of mobs then just take your lumps,Don't run and kill everyone in the area trying to save your own rear end.

What is "Getting Ridiculous" is the amount of goobers that think only about themselves and train other groups over and over.Accidental or not, Simply DON'T DO IT!

Thats a good point, but the punishment we recieved is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. This is all a big misunderstanding and needs to be resolved. Its ridiculous that the gms didnt bother to tell us what we did or for how long we needed to stay there...

Well we got out. I would have not been so mad if the gm took like 2 seconds last night to talk with us and tell us what we did and how long we need to stay in there. Im still a bit confused about this because i still feel we didnt do anything wrong. Meh..:/

That does seem harsh, especially considering that the other party would of run into the same aggros whether you were there or not, and would of (probably) died to them anyway

I agree. I am not on par with most of the monsters in the areas I go to, however, Dieing is part of the game. deal with it. I die at least 5 times in an hour. It doesn't matter how strong you are, you will eventually die. Its part of life. Blaming it on someone else is ridiculous. I don't see people complaining in KQ's. They go in, give it their best shot, and with all probability die several times. They dont blame it on others, they just try to get stronger so it wont happen next time. I believe that this punishment was extremely unfair. In my experience, the monsters only change targets when you attack them. This leads me to believe that the reporting party had some fault in this. And for all they knew, someone in the party told a funny joke. To them I say "Get a Life, Suckers". I repeat, try your best, if you die, so what? It is natural and it could be a lot worse, you could have to save manually. Which would stink if you forgot. You would be in the same exact situation, except that you couldnt blame others for your own failings.

Actually aggro monsters will attack the next person they come across. This isn't WoW where the mobs wil lgo back to where they were peacefully. They'll attack anything on the way back that's in their way. If you get in over your head and need to run then use a return scroll if other people are around.

As for the punishment. I do believe the post charging them with this said they did it twice.... Once can be an accident, 2nd time though?

Do I think the GM's were too harsh? Nope... There's some out there who DO pull trains just to make others suffer.

Like Trebori said "Don't do it". I can see if you pul la few while trying to get somewhere, and hey even if you're in a place like Moonlight tomb and you have a level 5 who's in there trying to KS you to level up at your expense.

Now to Secret.... your last paragraph. If I die because of what I did that's one thing... If I die because some idiot decided to pull 10 mobs behind him, where's the fairness in that? And like I said no, a monster doesn't have to be attacked to switch aggro... The person it's chasing dies.. .gets out of range ot TP's out.. it will aggro on the closest person available.

Absolutely true ASCIIrider, the mobs will attack anything near them on the way back. I agree that it's very inconsiderate to other players to pull trains, and just down right rude to do it deliberately. I don't know how many times I have ported thru to another area just to be jumped by some idiots train. Even once I killed the mobs from a train, set up my house to heal, got full health and don't ya know here comes another train with twice as many mobs which killed me. And trust me the ones who pull trains would be the first to scream about it if it happened to them. Just don't do it. I try to clear mobs as I am going thru areas and move before respawn, seems to work pretty good, and u even get a lil xp :) Just doesn't make sense to me to pull all that behind u for no reason when u could kill it get the xp and save other people some heartache from losing the xp they worked hard to get.

I've mad mobs kill me for healing people! While I think thats badass feature to have cause yea it makes sense if the monster realized omg I'm doing nothing cause that jerk over there is healing it and so it comes after me for healing but when I'm doing this I'm out of my league, I might take one healing myself while they kill it off me but when people run by with there train and I get 3 more I'm gone. Cause a very long walk back out there on top of my waste potions to get my hp and sp back and the lost annoying to get back exp.....I'm kinda glad the GM's are so harsh on this. If people do it over and over then yes you deserve to get punished like that

Now if its a thing of kiting I know I've done it as a mage thats different but the mage usually gets it back

Well, i think its completely unfair from both sides BUT there is a certain range point that the monsters can reach. If you are sitting there and a train comes by your staying there at your own risk you better be ready to run, its also quite inconsiderate of having to pull trains but ive been in places like the sea of greed and its quite hard not to when your fighting and 4 other things spawn right beside you :\ and then i die, and then the mob is left there anyway for the next person

hmm I find it slightly concerning that whichever GM was took action, did so without any communication whatsoever. I always like things being proven before action is taken, and not responding on impulse. This may have been an accident, it might not have, there's no evidence here in front of me for me to say which side of the fence I sit on, but I can say that at the very least, the GM should have contacted the accused group and asked for an explanation, or sent a warning message [if the accusing group had sufficient evidence to prove that maliyah and their group did it on purpose].

... because if there was no evidence, and just assume that this was an accident, then we have an issue here.
