Lately I've been getting sick of my fighter and thinking of creating a mage just because i like grinding and soloing and crap like that. I am aware of the low hp defence and stone count, but I was thinking. Couldnt you just get a full end build to help your hp and def go up? It would basically be a mage tank but wouldnt that fix it? Any suggestions to this idea? What are the side effects?

The 520 HP and 52 def from max end build can easily be fixed from scrolls

Pure INT build would do more 129 damage to each mob. Imagine if you were AoEing. INT scrolls are rare and expensive aswell.

Hmmm, yep yep, and END in armors adds way more defense if you compare it to the free stat point END.

...but you'll be squishy anyways xD

Want to be a mage tank? +9 everything. You will be loved by all clerics that want to duo. You will be envied by some fighters. You will be amazing.

END mage = fail

As a mage community we need to stop complaining about low defense and hp etc. It's part of the mage package. Mage's aren't supposed to be tankers for a reason, and continually fighting against that idea is silly. Just my opinion, but mages are meant for damage and nothing else really.

Any piece of equipment your character wears (not including ear rings, necklaces, and rings) can be enhanced using an interface in game. The max an item can be enhanced is 9 times. Originally an item that hasn't been enhanced is at +0.

If you want a more detailed view on this, I've made a guide (links in my siggy) it'll show you how to go about it.

Die too much? Learn to kite ;D It helped me a LOT to solo and it helps learn to pvp later on. I rarely die anymore, I even chain cast life tap in the middle of the mob. (Yes it is bad. I do it to save stones because I am cheap, and for the hilarity of it.)

this is just me i am finding i need more life than damage. i usually aoe alone kinda stupid but thats me. For me the reg damage is fine and besides if u can afford sparkcash or a +9 weap it basically fixes that:D

+20 End/Rest Int is one of the best builds that you can use if your using the Cash shop, otherwise +20 End/Rest Int/+25 Spr. If you are trying to make a DD/Tank mage you will need all +9 gear with end/int (spr isn't needed but you can substitute any stat you like but focus on two stats and get end stats as one of the stats on it.).

Going full end in your stats isn't worth it at all. So, again, consult the other threads out there, or try this build. If you need any help just send me a Private Message through forums, I am acquainted with mostly everything with/through the game if you need help with various things or suggestions.

Scrolls are a very good solution to the mage problem, and clerics also help.

I would never go full end or put a single point in it. I have a mage, he is full int/ 25spr, and I love it. most of the time I have a cleric with me.

Mages = Nuclear warheads

Fighters = missles or armorplated tanks

Archers = supportive machine gun

Clerics = invincible blobs that regenerate themselves and others.

I've been thinking about making a full end cleric actually. I'll be hated in pvp.

Yeah I wonder why people make END mages.
Just get END gear, sheesh.

Mages CAN tank. But I would prefer it if they didn't.

Best solution for me is to be the best damage dealer you can be, screw having a worry about defense and HP. Seriously, thats what you have agility, defensive and vitality scrolls for. If you want that extra boost of HP, quite obviously make sure your INT equip comes with END. Killing the enemy before it even touches you is the best bet, so shoot for having the best damage rather than best armor or hp. As some stated already, why make END mage, waste of points and time. a Mage not meant for Tank, go be a fighter for that reason. Mages will kill quick, effectively and effortlessly if you got what it takes.
I am a level 43 mage and have been soloing in CP. Heck I even went to CP1 just to see the advocates speak of me.

Heck, enough bragging, but if you want to level quick.. do yourself a favor get all int+end equips and pump all your points into INT at low levels.
Here's a tip, low level monsters should be dealt with by doing high damage. Higher level monsters require that SPR for criticals. I put SPR since high level 3x.

Anywho doing some of the things i have mentioned, I'm now level 43 possibly the strongest mage in the 40's in Epith. I PvP often in abyss's even against them fighters and have won 99% of them. i have done this in 5 days (1-43). It just takes skill, a lot of money, and common sense. You will be ownage in no time.

i am a 79 mage with no problem in the hp part. i am int end built. if you can afford godly armor you should no problem soloing or even owning people in pvp or wars

if u can afford the end gear and stuff the int build would be so powerful but i tend to need more hp then dmg cause i always end up tanking stuff

Meh, mages have plenty of defence with the right equipment. INT scrolls are harder to come by than DEF/VIT.
Soloing has never been a problem because you can nuke the enemy pretty fast.
I have both an END build mage and an INT build mage, and I can tell you that the difference for full END isn't that much less damage taken.
Just get good END armor.

hahahah! Pure int is the way to go! that why they have scrolls for the def
