Game suggestion - Buddy chat

I would really love it if there was a buddy chat in this game. I don't really see the point of a friends list if the only way you can talk to these people is to specifically whisper one at a time. Other games I've played have buddy chat, where you can read what anybody on your list says in their buddy chat.

It furthers friend-making and networking in the game and I think it would help out a lot in this game. I haven't actually made friends since I started playing Fiesta in April.

I know a lot of people would say something like, "that's the same thing as a guild!" but it's really not. This way you can communicate with people outside your guild without actually having to leave your own, and vice versa. It's a way to get to know new people.

Not that I'm a programmer, but I don't think it would be that exceedingly difficult to implement a buddy chat in a game that already has a chat system, either.

Maybe you could right click on your friends and there would be an optoin like whipser or party invite that say "BUDDY CHAT" and you can talk to your buds. then if u dont want to talk to a certain person anymore you can just delete them...maybe there should be a community tab just for the buddy list like gulid and party match so on....

I was thinking just an extra tab on the chat box that is already there, like where it says "normal", "guild", "party", "whisper". There'd be a buddy tab there and the people on your friends list can read what you type in it.

Of course, if you don't want to read your buddy chat, you can turn it off like you can turn off any of your other chats :]

ok...i was just saying it would be nice to have a list and a way to add and delete ppl without having to "invite" or "enter there names" when you want to talk them...sorta like gulid chat but you dont have to be in the same gulid and like the firends list where you can keep track of whos logged in or not

There was nothing wrong with what you said, I was just explaining how I 'imagined' it, is all.

Although uhm... you wouldn't need to "invite" or "enter their names" in what I said, either o_o. It's the friends list you already have.

Just put YES or NO.

Not "I don't talk to anyone on my friends list" That is not a no option. I definitely talk to people on my FL, I just disagree with this suggestion.

Well none of the options were intended to make you sound like a *****. Not talking to people on your friends list is a valid option for... not wanting to talk to the people on your friends list.

I don't understand what there's "not to get" about it, though. I only explained it twice.

Hmm... I think I understand what you mean.

Would it be like... everyone in your FL could talk to each other in the single chat box? Would those other peoples FL's also combine so you would end up with... lots and lots of people talking in the one chat box at once?

It's not such a bad idea. I can see how it might work out because people often have friends of the same level that they chat with, but aren't always in their FL. But if they're in another person's FL, then you could all chat together in the one box. Is that it? Could be interesting... would make catching up easier and remove the need for whispers other than for really personal conversations. I know I have plenty of chats in whisper and in party chat just to 'catch up' with someone, not for personal issues.
