Is there a way to put fiesta on an external hard drive and then make it portable (i.e. take the ExHD to another computer and play it without having to re-install to every new computer.) I downloaded it to my laptop and then tried to install to my ExHD. It said that there was a file missing and that i needed to try re-installing. I un installed it from the laptop and downloaded it to the ExHD but when i went to install it, it installed it on the C: drive not the ExHD. If there is a way to make it portable, where it's loading off of the external hard drive instead of the computer, that would be great. if anyone could let me know i would greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried installing the new Net.frames for it? See the annoying part about installing the game now a days is that.. it requires and ASKS a lot out of you. It's no longer the simple.. download.. then install process.. now you actually have to go through a series of stuff in order to get the game working. I suggest you turn to.. Net.frame (http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1069613) AND try downloading through the Manual Patch (http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31539). if all fails, then PM support@outspark.com and have a CSR guide you through. Good luck and hope all goes well

I'm going to have to correct you =[ sorry~

Yes, you can install programs in ExHDDs, and I own one so I would know =P. I believe you may be comparing them to simple jump-drives or similar portable storage devices. Even then, many programs nowadays are made so that they can be either 'installed' or 'extracted', enabling them to be run from jump-drives.

I have gotten other MMO's to work. As for Fiesta itself, I was able to get it to work before...but I haven't tried with the newer installers.

Actually, some jump drives and flash cards can hold programs easily, as long as you got space. There's an actually place for you to download them to your flash card. That way I can make sigs using the school comps, otherwise, I'd never get anything done.

I'm going to assume that you can't. You may be able to install it on an external.. but if you take that drive to another comp I bet you are going to have registry error problems.

Yes, I should have mentioned that the above discussions were based on the assumption you're using the same tower/notebook =P. I've tried copying the registry files over to another tower before, but it didn't work =[[[.

u can install on the harddrive but the file mapping and dll roots binded to the particular system you installed it in, so u can only connect the drive to the machine u installed it and run(many programs doesnt need installation to run, modularity ftw) but unlike mac and some linux wares, windows most usually is specific system reliant, u cant just cut and paste one software to another system and run(thus theres an installation file).
The solution would be keep the installation file in ur ex drive and keep installing it wherever you go ;). Good luck.
