Why is it sooooo laggy.

Every time i log in it is laggy. Anyone know why?

Also how many people have lagging promblem?

There are about 8 different kinds of lag. It could many things. Defragged lately?

Yea, having that low of a HD reserve won't help matters. Free some space up if you can. I try to keep 3 gigs( atleast) open on my HD's at all times.It leaves enough room for a swap file.

How much ram you have,your CPU, your video card,your ISP connection all can slow you down alot to if they are on the low end.

Yea.. lots of reasons behind slow gameplay. Try holding shift and pressing z (which hides characters, most useful in town) to speed it up a little.

Well, space would play a role, but right now it's the fact that the system's buggy. We're in beta people! I know it's tough to live with, I despise it too, but the whole point of this stage is to reveal and exterminate bugs in the system, I even made a forum thread for people to express their anger openly about the subject...... but no one posted anything in it.... right now all we can do is Shift Z over and over and over again until it works, and live with moving half a mile per hour in the city

I don't experience the DREADFUL type of lag very often. (The kind where no one moves, they just jump across the screen. Messages take 10 minutes to appear, and you die before you even see the monster on the screen, and by the time it appears, you have only a few seconds left on the respawn clock.)

Usually that type of lag is fixed by simply restarting the computer. If that doesn't work, you have sometyhing eating your cpu %.

Of course when you enter an area and it takes a few seconds to fully load.. everyone experiences that. It comes with the games. That's the server's fault usually, but if it's constant for several minutes or all the time, it's your computer.

Shift-z....That key combo is blasphemy with me. No matter how many times I do press it, it never works...I have given up on it and never even tried to use it since I joined Fiesta...Bah.

I've gotten it to work a few times, but it really kills the whole purpose of the game.

EVERYthing disappears.. @@;; except for mobs. haha.

I find that if you first wait for most things to finish loading, and all the character/shops to show up, it will be fairly laggy. But this depends on how many people there are and where I'm at.. Either way Shift+Z work fine for me. I just wait for things to finish loading up, then you hold Shift for about a second and then press Z, it works fine.

Maybe I'm just lucky..

It works for me like that as well. There is a video lag burst upon loading certain areas or logging in usually, although I hardly ever have to Shift+Z to solve the issues as they vanish in a few seconds.

And it is not just because of the Graphic issue at towns. Even when I am out and turn off everything I can turn off in the game (Game Settings, Graphics Settings and Sound Settings), I just can't leveling because I am just standing there and about 1-2 minutes later, I found I was dead already or the mob ^^.

Moving is ok though.

And the most important time is when the Kingdom Quest start, I had a hard time do that with everyone.

Sob, I am thinking of quitting, and just because of laggy.

PS: I live in Vietnam, dont have trouble with the PC hardwares, and only got lag when play Fiesta, and only at later of the day (like late morning till midnight, haven't tried to play Fiesta after 1:00 AM). But at the early morning, I play it fine, I mean GREAT with all the effects turned on. Hehe.. Now I need to wake up more than often, lol.

Lag is really nasty at times for me when I'm on a slow network (work) or when I've left the fiesta client on overnight to vend.

I have found that the longer I leave Fiesta up, the more my whole system doesn't like it. I'd have to say that the client plays a major role in that. There seems to be a memory leak in the game (not security wise that I can see, but rather sloppy memory management that doesn't refresh itself to see what nodules are free and which retain information, and what not), since I can't have my client up for terribly long without my game speed being affected.

Granted, it *is* beta, and these things *will* be addressed. Lag is a nasty bugger, but I currently retain faith in the devs to make it all better.
