Blessed upgrades...

Just had a question regarding Blessed upgrades...Do using them prevent weapon destruction? Im asking this because i've upgraded my weapon to lvl six, and i've used it a couple times already with positive results, but I'm not sure if that was the Blessed item or just my dumb luck. Im afraid of trying it again and having it destroyed without positive confirmation.

Blessed is supposed to just up your chances of success and I think a lower chance of it breaking, but yes they can still break when using them, I just broke my +5 shirt while trying to get it to +6 while using a blessed lix.
