I got a drop from an IMP in the newbie town area.. i don't even know what it's called.. why? because i'd been playing the game about 15 minutes when i got it..

So i use the scroll.. thinking i'll go back to the newbie town since i'd just leveled up..

and VOILA.. i'm in some high level town with a bunch of high level people, and there isn't any way from what i can tell to get back to the newbie town..

nobody seems to want to help me get back.. the item sellers don't sell scrolls of return to other towns..

so yeah.. that's a real problem.

ummm, calm down? Nobody could really have heard. Maybe they have the shift+z thingy one and that might be why they don't respond. I could just give a roumen return scroll though. As one of my characters has tons of that ><

I CAN ANSWER THIS....
there are two resons that people don't help...
1: most the people that are playing think they are way better than evey one els that is a lower levl.
2: alot of times when one of us trys to help the noobie gets snapy...

*out of the 7 people that i have tryed to help in town in the last 2 days only 2 people let me bring them back to noobs ville.
every one els got mad and in diffrent ways told me to F off because they didn't need any help.

**although i do find the scroll droping kind of weird... higher levl scrolls droping in low levl areas is not good since by the time you are ready to go to that town the monsters in that area no longer drop anything. ???? **

I agree with the scroll drops. Elderine scrolls shouldn't even be a drop until you hit level 10.

Best thing to do if you don't have a Roumen return scroll is go into Forest of Mist and die... that's the only zone that will warp you back to Roumen. That's the gate right near where you tp'd in. Or the one on the east end of town looking at the map.

You don't say wheather you were talking in shout or just normal room chat. Most of use have our shout tuned OFF anymore because of the gold spammers. Its also possible that people were trying to help you and because of the gold spammers it was off the screen before you could even see it. Everytime I have been in Elderine and someone needed help getting back to Roumen there were several people who tried to help.

I kind of agree that 90% if not more of the community in Elderine is really condescending but the remaining % are not and if you shout someone will help you get to the right gate or just give you a scroll.
If you are running around whispering to other characters then you are wasting your time because most will not even acknowledge your existence.
I made the suggestion several weeks back (as did others) that mobs should not drop Elderine scrolls to levels less than 15 and access to Sea of Greed should also be restricted.
Just my opinion.

Level 10 is better, as you need to get to Eld then for a quest. IMO you should get an eld and roumen one to start that quest.

hmmm, getting a scroll to start a quest is a good idea.... or at lest have more quests give you scrolls as rewords.

But the topic poster is right ... she is not alone & i meet lots of newbie ppl in Eldrine who asking for help to get back to Rumen ... the only way that they get in Eldrine is making TP to Sea of Gre... & then got death ...
I think that some inf about land explo should be add to Guide or at least pointed notice to Teleporting NPC something like recomendation about minimum lvl to pass to Sea of Gr.

The fastest and easiest way is to die in the forsest of mist : you'll be revived in the "newbie town", Rumen..

Ok, i've mellowed out a bit.. my solution was to start another character until i got a scroll of return, put in bank and used it on other char.

but.. i have a solution.

Many times there are menial quests that give you scrolls of return to certain places, this is to get people unstuck at places, and let you travel easily.

the solution is simple.. a level 1 menial quest in Elderin.. something like picking flowers that's repeatable and gives you a scroll of return to Rumen.

if more newbies like i was get stuck, someone can just say talk to 'xxx'.

I think they should just sell return scrolls in shops.
it's a pain in the butt trying to get somewhere by foot all the time when you have no money.

But yeah if you ever need return scrolls some of the user shops sell them.

revisiting this topic.. i've guided three people now to the center median in Forest of Mist and told them to just start running north..

anyway, i hope they fix this little problem in the future.
