I was just wondering that people who don't have enough space in their computer, could use a flash drive drive. Maybe you can download the Fiesta Launcher and other stuff onto a flash drive and play whenever we want by using the flash drive. If anyone had tried it, please let me now if it works or not. I am looking answers from the GMs and any other people Please Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lee is weird.

An external hard drive will definitely work, however I've never tried it on a Flash Drive but as I said before in theory it should work.

Provided you have an adequate flash drive.

Theoretically, yes, it will work.

However, your processor is generally much faster than a USB port. Which means that when the game requests files, you may end up waiting five minutes to switch maps if you use a flash drive, since it will take a lot longer to access those files.

So technically, yes you can use a Flash Drive but you have to deal with lag? T.T

Moreless, yes, it would be running through the USB/Flash Drive, but I have played games through a Flash Drive before, and I had no problems.

I would like to try this, but before I do
I'm wondring if you had no problems because of the type of computer you're using?

I'm not good with computers, all I know how to do is download and keep it clean (useless folders get thrown away etc)
So, I'm wondering, does your computer have a lot of capacity or what?? T.T
Hopefully that made sense, I have trouble using big words >.>;

I have heard that you can only hold the file on the flash drive, not run the game from it...but I don't know, it can't hurt to try. You would still have to install the game onto your system, it needs to put some files on the registry.

I have used a USB jump stick to transfer the install file and it worked just fine

i think the installer puts the game on the c drive and you cant change the destination, i read once, or is it that you can tell it to install on another drive but some files still install on c: which some people have been frustrated by cause they use that as a small windows only drive, and use other drives for programs and files. but even then if you install it on flash drive and it still puts some files on c: it will reduce load on c: if your short on space

i've installed a copy of fiesta on my asus eee - netbook
(using win xp on the 4 gb ssd-diskdrive and fiesta installed on a 4gb sd-card)

it works pretty well - not for gaming but for putting up a shop and so on its really enough.

however, installation itself was a bit tricky because u need about 3 gb spare 'temp' space on your c: drive

You can.

My boyfriend downloaded the .exe file to his flashdrive, and then the actual installer or whatever the next step is. Then again he has a 40g one that can hold it. Mine is 1g and cant.

Blegh he hasnt done the new launcher tho because he has the old one, and it complains he has to get a newer version of the installer to continue

If the flash drive works great. However what about patches? I mean if there is a new patch and the installer automatically searches for them would the patch install on the flash drive or hard drive? Ah questions questions.

I have my Fiesta on an external HDD. You have to use the manual patch and specify where you want it to save to, else it will go into your C drive and Fiesta won't be able to apply the patch.

I don't see why the game would lag if you used a Flash Drive instead of an HDD. A flash drive is much faster at transferring data opposed to a hard drive, plus the game will be running on your RAM therefore it won't even be in communication with the flash drive until fiesta is closed/ended.

Can we please stay on topic? If you wanna talk about other things not pertaining to the topic at ahdn, all youre doing is a) spamming, b) posting junk to increase your post count, and c) further encouraging peoepl who see this to go off topic.

I consider this off topic...o.o;
Especially since it was only 5 posts and the rest is on topic so
I see no reason for this post -_-?

Anyway

I have a question about the patch thing
Well errr more than one i guess xD

How often are the patches applied?
And, depending on the time of the patch, couldn't you at least download
Fiesta with the latest patch and be able to play for a while?
