Dear Newbies; att new players-

with the recent influx of new players and new lurkers to the forums, I keep seeing maaany people ignorant or ignoring the TOS on lost of things from blacklisting to making repeat threads that could have been easily searched for.

That being said I'm here to remind you about some common TOS violations, and forum ettiqutte.

Search function is your friend. Try to see if you can find the thread before you make it. Help us keep this forum uncluttered, the CLs can only do so much. This forum is in sections. Look at the hyperlinks at the top if you cant find something right here, odds are you need to look or post in the appropriotte section, IE Quest questions in the QUEST SECTION, Guild or marketplace stuff in the GUILD or MARKETPLACE sections.

Censor bypassing is a NONO.

Don't post non outspark links anywhere. Not in your threads, not in yoru posts, and not in your siggies.

Dont mention Non outspark games by name. Or the names of other gaming companies, console based or not. Period.

Blacklisting is against TOS. Nobody cares, and we dont need this community torn apart by some stupid rumors. You have a problem with some one? Take a screenie of the suspected action and send it to solstice_help. Period.

CLs are you friend. They are the buffer between us and the actual employees. Send them PMs if you have problems and they will do their best to help you.



If anyone else who lurks here has anything to add for the newbies go ahead and post it here, and if I think of anything else i will also add.

Bottom line, welcome to the community. Dont be a n00b or we will hate you. Dont think you know everything because you've been here a month. Take direction from the Veterans cause we love to help out, but dont act like an arrogant idiot just cause you had some uber guy on some other game. We dont care.

You can't always flame a helpless being when help is really needed, that's just seriously unfair and inhuman. Hating someone for something they've asked that may be 'beg-ish' or stupid isn't really a problem. Teach them the right thing in a nice manner, "You shouldn't beg or ask for anything. Some people may get annoyed," not something like "Oh you stupid noob, you suck now cause you just begged for something. Hey everyone I'm friends with! Let's all hate this dude."

DO think you know something because you've been here a month. Help newer players out with that information! Some of it may be wrong of different parts of the game, but not everything can be completely wrong. Discouragement to those who are trying to lead is lame. We can get tips and helps from even NEW PLAYERS of the game too, not just veterans. Maybe you yourself or myself shouldn't act like an arrogant idiot just cause you had some uber guy on some other game "or this game". Saying the word WE in "We don't care" does not include everyone, I'm sure a lot of players in game, care to help each other out with level/getting quest items/making friends...etc. If we don't care at all, then how come we're here and not hopeless little players that still doesn't even know how to get past the xenian class(even with the new newbie level system)?!

Us oldies are suppose to encourage new comers, not make them feel so bad they want to quit the game or go emo.

Good thread. There's either alot of repeat threads or none at all these days. Guess everything has been discussed just about..... *waits patiently for more content to come out.....so that more discussions can happen*

This is a very vaild point. I think a better part of this problem is that people don't read the Forum rules so they don't know or don't care. The forum rules cover everything you stated except the mentioning of Non Outspark games by name.

It might be a little more helpful to have the forum rules on the front page of Sots forum and not just a sticky on the general discussion page. if a player or lurker doesn't go into general discussion then they can't read the forum rules. I can't remember if you read them when you first sign up.

Its not just the noobs who are doing this, even some the older players have been guilty of TOS violations. Sometimes they're intentional and sometimes they're not. Of course the CL's are doing a great job keeping the order and providing helpful information as well as other member of the community who do the same. It looks good for a community that when some breaks Tos rules, someone will inform the person of the broken rule and the action is corrected sometimes even before the CL is aware.

I guess it all goes back to knowing the forum rules. I think i'll do my little part and include a link to the forum rules in sig. :D

lol, yeah i got carried away when i first posted this thread, with my "bottom" line part.
Then after a careful reconsideration, i realized that I just sounded like a leetist jerk, which wasnt what I was going for at all. Soooo realizing that I edited my original post and took out the "jerky" part.
Now i think the thread is back on track.
But guys, dont just agree with it, think of some other stuff to post that I might have forgotten.
