How can I tell if drops are shared or not?

How can I tell if drops are shared by the party or if the party is set to free allocation?
And also how is it determined who gets what and how much of the drops?
I was partied with a friend the other day and we both clueless about how to share or how to tell if we were already sharing or not.

Best way I find out is by right mouse clicking on my character profile in the upper left of the game screen. If it says Free Allocation, it means free-for-all. If it says Sequential, it means no matter who loots something, it gets directed towards the next person in line for loot (and then it repeats itself over and over per item).

example: your group of three kills a spawn and it drops 3 items. Since you received the last item before this spawn, it means the other two members in your party will get something first and you will get the last remaining item on the ground.

So if it says free allocation I simply click it to change it?

I'm pretty sure that's only if you are party leader there, Tam. If you accepted a request to join up, then I dont think you get to decide.

No, unfortunately only the leader (the one with the crown next to their picture) can change that. If its not on Sequential then you can always ask. If it doesn't change, you may wish to find another group if it becomes a concern (or just ninja loot like a mad mistress until they do change it) LOL
