Power leveling to level 50 in 12 hours

For some time now, I've been wanting to see if it was possible to raise a character to level 50+ in 12 hours. I've been preparing for months now for the perfect opportunity to test if this idea was possible, and now that there is a 50% boost weekend, I've decided to give it a try.

First of all, I'll start with a new character, but I'll raise him to level 11 first. This will get me past the tutuorial quests. I'll also complete the kron storage quest before starting the timer, giving me access to the hotel from the start. I've decided to finish these steps before starting the 12 hour timer because they're annoying, and don't really add to a real test of power leveling, since everyone will take approximately the same amount of time completing them. If you're a real stickler for the 12 hour rule I came up with, just change it to the 12.5 hour rule :D.

The way I'll be keeping track of time is by a 12 hour server time boost. This will allow me to take breaks from the game so that I can periodically post my progress. It will also allow me to sleep tonight :p, and help if anything comes up irl that forces me to leave off playing (I lost power for 10 minutes earlier today). I plan on finishing the 12 hours by tomorrow night (10/25), assuming everything goes as planned. I also believe the same progress I'll be making can be done all in one sittting, assuming someone has made preparations allowing them to play for 12 hours non stop.

If you're at all curious how I will attempt this feat, I'll be posting screenshots and explanations periodically over the next day showing how. Here's a hint: massive sparkcash, and lots of repeatable quests. You'll have to look back here later for the details ;).

My character will go apprentice, mainly because I've been wanting one for a while, but also because it is one of the harder classes to power level. The lack of the horror mask for added damage will make leveling more difficult compared to other classes early on.

Well, I've just finished the first hour and I'm already level 27. The first thing I did after getting everything I needed from the hotel, was to go directly to the labyrinth.

The first monster I killed brought me from level 11 to level 13. This is the second monster. It brought me to almorst 15. It only took 4 monsters total to get to level 16.

Once I reached 16 I changed classes.

As you can see, I'm only 13 minutes into it. I then went to the Engraved Path where I started killing Gurons, hoping for some skill books.

Here was a weird glitch where I disappeared every time I cast a spell. Also, there's the notice telling of the experience boost this weekend...one of the main reasons why I'm doing this right now :).

Once I reached level 24, I went to the hotel for my hoard of skill books.

The skill master was in awe at the amount of Gurons that died to give me so many. When I asked him if he would take all 700 at once, he refused, so I started clicking away. First though I made sure to equip my boost bag for an additional 5% experience. I had planned on purchasing the boost bear suit and head for this quest as well, but they're no longer being offered :(. For the first level I used them, I received 8% for each book.

Now you can see that the first hour has dropped to zero.

So where do things stand? I'm level 27, and for much of the next hour I plan on clicking away at the skill book quest. I've still got over 650 left, and I've already raised three levels from them. We'll see where I'm at when I'm down to zero :D. More to come later!

Anyway, after 43 minutes worth of clicking, I finally got down to the final skill book.

As you can see, I am now level 41 at this point. Since I started the skill book quest at level 24, that means I went up 17 levels off of them. I started out getting 8% for each one, and at the end was getting just over 1%.

It was then time to start doing the quests that I was now eligible for. Mixmon got his milk, Bertran got Karlstad's book, the Guild Chief learned about the descendants of lost heroes, and Hansen got his adventure book. When I had finished with these quests, an hour and five minutes had passed.

As you can see, I am now level 42, and at 81%, and only two hours and seven minutes have passed. Things are going much better than I had expected. I haven't even started on my paint yet :D. Check back soon for more updates!

I once did something similiar to this, I tried to see how far I could get a neo with a week long exp book, not with any goal in mind, but as a personal challenge.

You did in a matter of hours what i could only dream of doing. I had a 5X scout when the book stopped (think it was like level 57 or something), but I realize the sense of accomplishment you are trying to achieve by doing in a matter of hours/days, what our mains took months to do.

So from one insane person to another ( xDD ), good luck, and dont let the motivation dim, keep the fires burning bright and keep at it!

Jammin, i'm sorry if u took offense of what i had written, i was merely looking at it from a different perspective...it would have been awesome if you have done it the old fashion way...but hey, why not make it this way, since you already have a lvl 40+ char in 3-4 hours, make the first lvl 66 in 48 hours char beats all mad sc buyers anyday :rolleyes:

Thanks...I might have overreacted some, but I wasn't expecting all those posts all at once. It's in the past :D. I might just have to try for a record lvl 66...you'll see why in a minute ;).

For the third hour I went back and started running the paint quest. I had nearly 500 saved up (thanks Varn for helping out with those). Unfortunately, I forgot to take a screenshot at the beginning, but part way through I took this one.

The paint got me to level 44, around 3% every time I turned it in. I then started on the punitive force series of quests. The guard quest, polluted soul quest, and devil's blood quest got me to about 80%. I then thought I'd go ahead and try the fourth quest, even though I was pretty sure it was still broken since both a guildy and I had tried it a couple weeks ago and it didn't work. I went through the first part of the quest, but sure enough when I brought the sealed report to Raymond he told me to go talk to the Guild Chief, without furthering the quest. Even though I had tried before, I figured it couldn't hurt, and brought the report to him. When I clicked on the quest, I was surprised when he excepted it and I leveled. It took me a minute to see that I was LEVEL 49. I had gone up 5 levels from the quest...gaining over 400k exp. I was so shocked, I forgot to take a screenshot, and switched over to my main so I could tell my guildies :eek:.

I'm still pretty ticked off I didn't get any screenie of it, or the chat box.

After I got over my excitement, I saw I only had 25% to go till I reached my goal of lvl 50. So I went out grinding. Before I knew it I did it! :D

Unfortunately, that was supposed to show my leveling wings, but that glitch made me disappear at the exact moment I leveled, and took my wings with it :(.

As you can see, it took me 3 hours and 47 minutes to get to level 50. I never expected in my wildest dreams that such a thing was possible, although I did suspect that I would get over level 50 within the 12 hours.

So now that I've met my goal, and still have over 8 hours left, I'm setting a new goal of level 60. Who knows? Maybe I'll even make mage before that timer runs out.

He reached lvl 54 in 14 hours of playing for the first time. Plus, he did in it the old fashioned way and there weren't that many uber pwnsome quests lying around when he was lvling his char.... And i also suspects that during that time, the exp for lower lvls haven't been fixed yet and is far more lower than what we have now.... So he is a sots legend ^^

i remember back when st pat hats were out, with one 3 hour xp booster, cash weapon (the cool st pat stick weapon that added pow), horror mask, st pat hat (obvo) and a friendly cleric i got from lvl 0 to lvl 43 in 3 hours (slowed down after that), would have probably lvl'ed faster if i could have fought the eir mobs earlier :3 (running there is a pain D; )

It was the sign of the devil's resurrection. You had to do the first and second mine expedition quests, and the analysis of devil's blood before you get the quest. It's the one that uses the sealed reports that drop over by the caves. I believe it gave me 430,000 exp.

no he did this around the middle of september as a straight grind with no questing on a different character. He shall live in my memory forever, but Torean you're questing setup is pretty sweet too, good work.

Sorry to have beaten you to 50 like that :p. I didn't think I was gonna do it.

Getting to level 60 is much harder since almost all the good quests have dried up. I'm at 52 right now...with about 5 and a half hours left. We'll see how it goes :).

Btw...thanks for all the rep guys O_O. I certainly wasn't expecting it.
