With Teva being the oldest server, it's safe to say that alot of players are...well...loaded. XD So, hypothetically speaking, if a lvl20 fighter was to make a thread asking nicely for monetary/item donations to help them along their way, howmany of you would actually donate them him?
Just a bit curious folks.

I remember a lvl 45+ fighter came up to me while I was selling elrues in lvl 20 in Elderine and asked me why I didn't vendor. I asked him what was that and he explained the process to me. I thanked him and he gave me 45 silver to start off with a stack of Xirs (or lix I can't remember) since he saw that my sword/shield was not enhanced past +3. I thanked him and I went to Roumen bought some skills I needed and some gear in Elderine had about 20~25 silver left over so I started giving away to those who needed it in Roumen. Not the spammers who said: "I need silver!" over and over again, but those with reasons. I still do that today but know I'm poor again XD. I need to start vendoring now.

After he traded the 400c i told him, he asked how do i feed it.
I told him the stones for them are normaly 1g but id give him 40 for just 5s.
I made 5s 400c that day.

i didnt read all the posts so i might sound like a ***** but i dont give money to strangers who ask for it, ever. just as i would never be rude enough to ask strangers for money. its an emotional/financial dilemma that shouldnt be their problem. i really do believe asking for money/plvling is impolite at best, i wouldnt even ask good friends.
saying that iv given plenty to friends, a couple times to people i didnt really know but they were hacked. 95% of the time its to friends that dont ask. i prefer to buy equips and lend them, avoids the thought of "how much is that person worth to me" more.
edit: can i say i think "charity" should only refer to those who are out of their own capability to make their own way and need help. everyone on fiesta has the same access to resources, if you dont want to go the effort to make money why should I be responisble? only ways people get in fiesta like this are if they are scammed/hacked, then i would give money because they have been knocked back by something out of their control.
for the record i dont like this thread.

Why not just mine or farm?...abyss works too..i think..x.x
just save ur own hard earned money...cause if someone does give you silvers/golds and you didn't even give anything to earn it..you might just waste it because you can get easy money..but if you earned it by farming, mining, hunting greens and loots...you earned it by yourself and you'll know how hard it is to earn it so you won't waste it...

IG money isnt the same as rl money.
If someone just randomly gave me 2g, im going to buy something worth 2g.

She means personality wise, no need to be rude Link. There is actually some logic behind her statement, people tend to behave the same way in game that they would in real life.
If they are stingy about their actual money, odds are they will be stingy about game money too. I for one don't like to spend my gold unless the gear is really, really worth it. I'm the same way in real life.
Whether you carry that shiny 500lb axe in real life or not, its the personality behind the character that shines through, and your real personality tends to carry over into the game...I believe thats what she was trying to say.

If you got 4,000$ randomly by one person u would not go buy a +9 weapon.
You cant compare in-game money to rl money on this kind of topic. With 4,000$ u can do alot of more benfitual things, with 4g in-game you can only buy so much. Of course they benefit your charater(sometimes), but its not like we can buy a house, or feed a family in the game.
Personality doesnt have to be the same, iv given away golds before, but that doesnt mean im going to give away thousands of dollars.
Not being rude, making a point.

Actually, somewhere down the line you will be able to buy a house. You're right to a degree, people tend to be stingier with their own real life money than with in game money, but I was clarifying the point she was trying to make.
But if I have the tendency to save in real life, I will probably carry that tendency over into the game. Saving my money allows me to give away large amounts of it without worrying about my own finances, both in game and out. People irl give away thousands of dollars every day, campaign fundraisers, charities, schools...but those that save to start with are the ones that have the ability to give away large amounts of money and not think twice about it.
Its not fail logic, it just doesn't apply to the physical features of the game like character armor or weapons.

Sry if i double posted.
His statement was that my in-game charater was like me, which is not 100% true. Anyway on this note:
In-Game money =/= Real life money. Its fail logic, virtual armor, weapons does not = Real money value. In the since that the only thing we have to spend out money on(im talking decent things) Is armor, weapons and jewlery. We as in real life, that same value of money can be applied on a greater scale of things, both more important and more benefitual.
I guess i can be 100% correct either, because people are diffrent.

I don't think you're seeing the point of view we're trying to present to you. Its not the value of the money...the money is just an example. Its the spending/saving habits that are similar.
Much like if I find a great shirt in a store that I want...I'll buy it no matter what the cost...same with a chest piece for my cleric. I feel like you're trying to understand our arguement from the point of view that game objects have real life value...thats not what's being construed here. Its that peoples personalities in game are similar to how they are in real life. Key word there being PERSONALITY.
Physical looks, objects, and monetary values are not what we're trying to get across.
Btw, you are still being rude. I'm not telling you that your logic is failed, nor making any deurogatory statements about how no matter how many times its stated, it won't be logical. I'm respecting you, so I would expect you to do the same for other users.

Sixth, I think he was making a point, if you refer to his signature you'll see what I mean. "He that always gives way to other will end up having no principles of his own"
Personally, it would depend on the situation, honestly I would prefer to take a low level out and show them good hunting maps so they could learn to make money on their own. And I quite agree with many of the points regarding how you wouldn't give them anything unless they'd been hacked/scammed. Personally I was hacked a while back and refused to take any money that was offered to me, I hadn't asked them anything, I think I'd been asking if they'd seen a certain item floating round and it was at the point where the money I was being offered was over double what I had lost. When a friend will do anything they can to help another out, that's true charity.
