Thinking about starting up

Hey there everyone, I used to play RO a long time ago and got bored of it...then played WoW and EQ....it just took too much time.

I'm checking out this game to see if it was similar to RO in the sense that I liked that I could solo a lot of the way up and not rely too much on other people. I also like the interface. What do you guys think? Is this the game for me? I just like to sit down and fiddle around for an hour or two here and there, mostly i'd like to solo. I'm also thinking about getting back into FFXI...any thoughts on if it's the right game for me?

SoS is a good game. Not Fiesta though. Don't bother playing that.

Im also thinking about playing. Played a few othert mmorpgs and they took way too much time as well. So Ive a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, will that work?

new guys, this game might not be for you. It is REALLY long and REALLY hard to get exp at higher lvls. Solo, or party, its all the same. Sure you can get exp doing whatever but when you get to the point where if you party at all, you get .01% per kill, it just get rediculous.

That being said. Ive never played RO or FF online or any of those, but what we do have going for us here, is an immensely awesome community, in-game AND on the forums.

The game itself is pretty standard 4 class starting tree that branches out. The quests still need work, but all the same we actually have GMs that DO STUFF!!
Also do you hate gold-bots? We do to, and to the best of my knowledge there are NONE so far! I know i know you're halfway sold aren't you?
The Gameplay is pretty repetetive though. Lots of spamminng the F keys to fight, but still there ARE tactics to staying alive, and despite the problems this game is totally addicting, and people are FRIENDLY, which goes a long way for me at least, since most of the other MMOs I played had tons of people playing but no one to answer any questions cause they were too snobby or w/e.

All I can say is give it a try for a week and see where it takes you. It took ME to lvl 75, and yeah i'm one of the most casual gamers that plays this. Took me a YEAR to get to this lvl, but yeah if you are a grinder then you can do it in a week.

Bottom line- GRINDFEST and if you dont like grindfest and slower skill developement then maybe somewhere else make you happier? Oh yeah and the enhancement system is terrible. I'll never put this game down though. The playability is too great for me.
