Making money?

Is there any way to make significant amounts of money in this game other than crafting stones, scrolls, potions, etc. and selling them to other players? In other words, to get ahead do you have to set up your own store?

I am currently a level 12 fighter and so far have been getting by selling creature drops to vendors but I don't have enough copper (silver? what's that? never seen any...) to buy all the skills I need at this point in the game. For instance I just picked up a quest that requires that I mine some copper ore but the gathering skill plus the pickaxe will cost about 700 copper which is easily twice as much as I have ever had.

Any and all advice/assistance greatly appreciated.

unless you got rare items on you, dont expect to make money when you dont have money. you will get money in later levels, and then you can start to make pots and such for selling. Of course wut i just told is pretty standard advice, How you go about in making money is made from your own skills in haggling, selling and ability to foresee market trends. In order words... use your Merchant's guts.

Completing quests are a decent enough way to make money and some of them are repeatable!

You can consider participating on Kingdom quests. You can get pretty smashy items with luck. You can sell them after you're done with those items or spares.


If you're considering about selling monster drop materials to NPCs, compare price. Sometimes players offer a higher price then selling to npcs. Disregard cheap people that buys ingredients for only 1c 2c 3c. They feel great when new players sells them at those price without thinking of how the new players feel.

Edit: I just thought of an idea for you. Get stone production skill. Craft Elrues and sell them for 35c in Roumen while naming the shop something like "Elrue 35c while stocks last". I get a feeling it will sell fast. Keep the shop up for an hour or two while messing around in the forums or cleaning up your house.
