Male clerics Vs. Female clerics

if you can look over at the priest roster, it is apparent that male priests are outnumbered by the females (who has seen a female priest IRL? oO).

Anyway, i was very much wondering why this is the case...

--Does everyone prefer a girl cleric over a guy cleric?
--Are male clerics just plain lazier? :D (i thought i was the only one =P)
--is it because most of the available duos/aoers/party people are males who want a pixelated girl healer?

According to the roster, 70% of priests are female (at least in appearence). Obviously female ones are dominant over male ones in number.

Guy cleriques, what are they doing ? Stop slacking in town. Go make some lvl to turmeit.

Well, more girls are much of a helping type than a fighting type.
Plus, they level up much faster.

Uhh. Like I said, male clerics are more of a fighting type than the healing & buffing type. At least there are actually Male Priests who made it to their goal ^_^

lmao female clerics do have a better chance of finding a party or duo for some reason, and the boys tend to help the girls more then the guys :p. I hear a lot of male clerics complain about female healers getting the edge over them.Poor male clerics <_<. Here is a suggestion make a archer the clerics and ptys will be flying your way asking for party or duo.

Also, just because they're female in game doesn't mean they are one themselves in real life, which is probably true here too. Females tend to get better treatment too as well, you can expect that in a lot of online games.And lastly, girls like to be supportive and tend not to like to hack and slash, so a perfect class for them would be the healer. Some games even have healers locked down to being gender specific - female only.

well us guy healers tend to focus on lvling while u girls seem not to care, so we look for good parties while chicks just look for parties in general :p one of the reasons why i cant wait til disc is so i dont have to rely on my guildies to lvl me ;-;

Like others have said, a lot of dudes prefer classes that can take and deal damage, while many girls prefer support classes. This is likely the biproduct of the pervasive gender dichotomy that exists in real life, which persuades men to be macho and independent and women to be feminine and social. (This is not the same as saying that men and women are naturally that way, which is patently false.) So if a majority of the people who choose to be a healer class are female, the majority of 3rd class healers will be female. Ergo, QED.

For myself, I've always chosen a fighting class in the past, usually something equivalent to a rogue. In starting SoS, I decided to branch out and try something different. What's further from a rogue/assassin type than an innocent and naive servant of light? I sez. And it's always fun to take a notch out of gender stereotypes.

'Course, now that I have my AoE, I'm training the rogue character that I normally would have started with. So I dunno about making priest any time soon. Go ladies! Heal me when I'm rogue, kk? :3

I have to agree tons of females priest in all the games i played that is very similar to this one now i will admit i played one or two females healers in my day too. Because guys are way more out to help you in one game i had a guy give me and buy me almost anything i wanted cause my toon was a female (also i was one of the few healers on the game cause the alco's could also go monk). So if it is a new game that i dont understand and need some help my first toon is usually a chick.

Why does it matter? Should we also tell you that we're 80 years old, or fat, or have a large growth on our forehead? In an MMO, those cute avatars you see could be ANYBODY. It's up to you to realize that; we don't have to give up our anonymity just so you can treat us differently.

And most of the high level females I know have male alts, so it's not one-sided. I imagine that most people subconsciously recognize the arbitrariness of the gender binary.

Usually when im playing if I see a girl avatar I assume im talking to a girl XD same with the guys...so its a little odd when im talking to one of my party members thats a girl and one of someone from my party is like "John can you grab me some pots?" and then the girl avatar warps off to get some pots and im like O_O and im thinking "wasn't I just talking to you about how I love boys with long hair?" XD

Did anyone notice that the female clerics are starting to grind again? I mean...so many of us our now on the canadite list for priest/priestess.....and with all the new clerics....we are found soloing Chantry....and if ur me and somewhat stupid...beyond...and willing to get mobbed to get some good exp XD
I just grind when I can....need to get Howling......other than that....pvp XD

I get like no exp in eir...so....im usually soloing Loren and watching all the scouts go O_O thats a cleric...and shes soloing XD.....occasionally I will solo Chantry but then decide to commit suicide and attempt to walk to the next map by myself.....somehow I managed to survive last time and got some good exp ^^

First off I will start by saying that yes, I am a real life girl lol ^^. I chose the aco class in cb because I liked the look, and I chose pred class cause I thought the outfit was cute. Not much more thought was given to it... In ob I chose disc cause I had enjoyed pred and also because I knew that a few cb buddies would continue to party me even if I could no longer heal them.

I later chose to create a cleric because... the outfit is just too cute ^^. There you go, the deep meaning behind my character creations lol.

So why are there so few male clerics? One, I think some rl males prefer to have female healer characters. Two, many male acos end up changing to the disciple class. Three, many females might prefer to play as a healer in this game, for whatever reason lol. And there are probably a ton of other reasons as to why there are so few male healers compared to female healers.

On a side note, I think it would be so amusing to create a male alt one of these days lol, but then again I think it might freak me out to be called a dude in the game. Not too mention that aside from one or two classes I prefer the female look compared to the male look... (it is so unfair that male temps look better than the female ones...imho)

I just picked a healer because they're usually worth their weight in whatever unit of money the game is (literally, plenty of healer-mercs), people tend to be nicer (talkative) to healers, at least in my experience. Maybe because healers aren't usually played by the Mountain Dew chugging, sexuality questioning, n00b pwners (another reason Solstice is awesome, no mics to srceam into.). It could just as well be the robes though.

And like that one guy said, you do get a chance to throw out smart *** comments.

Since the sex doesn't offer any stat or skill-advantage it comes to looks in my opinion.
And quoting, since I(and most others) have too many male characters stuck in the game cabinet in the past. ^_^'

Thus why my stab in SoS are mostly females.
(Funny thing is, I get few of the advantages everyone talks about regarding girls' treatment... Let's not talk about a particular time I recalled recently. x_x)

The girl Knight and Warrior are different cases, since the anti-moe radar kicks in when I made a new one to spite myself. XD

Other than that I have my doubts about the stereotypes, if I forced my younger sisters, at least one of them will be a Rogue based on her liking in jumping around and attack me when we play games. For the other one I'm not sure yet. >.>

If I don't know the gender of someone in-game, I treat them as the gender the play as, IE male Mage, played by girl; Treated as male, etc....
