LVL 40 : Switch to MACE?!?

I heard from some people that switching to mace with lvl 40 should be better...
Why? Is it because I don't miss very often with a mace?

It's mostly just for the accuracy of the mace, in that unless you put points into dex/use a scroll, you will find yourself missing monsters more and more as you progress.

I'd like to do a calculation as to the actual damage over say three monsters between a mace and hammer.

I have a mostly SPR cleric i'm working on.. and i think the extra hits with a mace also increases the chances of a crit hit.. and that would make up for the difference of a hammer.

Plus of course the accuracy thing.

I don't have the money right now to buy both and test it at level 22, but I'll get around to it.

Well i had hammer with +4 for level 20. it was fun and high dmg BUT SLOWWW
I cant play like that.
so i got from kq Mace +5 and sold the hammer for 8 silver.
the mace i think is alot better. it's faster and i got tones of crits o0

I got a +3 hammer from a kq, so i kept it instead of breaking my hammer through enhancement again. If it get a +3Mace or higher from a kq i'll stick with that instead.

what wpn u r using??? if lvl 20 mace u should be hitting....

True...hammer cleric must add dex instead of str to replace the lost of aim...or else u cannot even hit monsters in MT even if u got aim...while mace ppl just add str to add extra dmg in ur mace (the aim in the mace is very gd...u can totally dun need to add dex as u would be hitting most of the time(provided that it is easy meaning monster name is grey,green or yellow but for boss no matter what u will miss a few times)with average dmg

Well I dont know why you keep missing get a ring with End and Dex Marlone ring is good.

I can almost always hit Orcs in Uruga and im Lv 41 pure end cleric

I added 23 pts to END and 10pt to SPR, nothing to DEX. Just to note, I did not use any aim or accuracy scrolls, only hp and magical defense scroll. So I still favor hammer for the extra damage, but maybe one downside is the speed of the hit, where mace is faster.

To be honest if you are already using the hammer at Lv 40 stay with it. If you are not using the hammer at Lv 40 I'd advise you to switch to it. You will notice that you miss more and more as you progress through the stages. This applies to all classes not just clerics. If you dont understand what I mean go to Collapsed Prison or Uruga. If you find still cant bare the misses equip a ring with Dex

Problem solved

Its quite obvious the topic creator has no idea what meleeing is like from Lv 40 onwards. Even if you take the TCs advice and switch to mace you will find yourself still missing alot in the later stages. It makes absolutely no difference at all.

My final advice

Equip 2 Zombie King Rings it should have end and dex on it. By Lv 40 I'd assume you've already got a pet equip it the 1 point helps. Make yourself plenty of tier 2 power scrolls and there you have it. No need to switch to mace at all. Most clerics I see in Collapsed Prison and Uruga still use the Hammer anyway The mace becomes useless anyway with its low Strength and you all know clerics need that badly when you are playing solo.
