Dark Elves?

I noticed on the fan sites it says that mages are suppose to be dark elves and the mage npcs all seem to be dark elves but the playable mages are the normal kind. Are we all going to end up turning into dark elves in some later patch or are we just going to keep the same model? I like the look of the normal elves more.

Well, as far as I know (that's for the whiney forum members who are out to get anyone with an independant voice and are already angry with me for talking about changes that other people are asking for) in Closed Beta i read and have heard that there were only a girl and boy version of each class, absolutely no customization, and the mages were all dark elves. Now no one knows if they'll bring the dark elf race back, or change customization from class-based races but the production team.

iam not sure how the developers think but in the japanese version i think you can choose. iam basing these thoughts on these 2 pics from the japanese site

i haven't been able to find out much about the japanese version since it requiers a japanese windows xp/2000 OS.

I got all amped ump to have a dark elf, just like em for some reason cant wait til we can get one...

if the option becomes available, i wonder if i can change the mage I have to a dark elf or if I would have to roll another...

yeah... The GM's said that characters wouldn't be deleted in the transit from Open Beta to release, and if you want my opinion, before we log in our characters should be able to go through the customization process again for a full make-over.

yea, thet would be really great. at final release when we log in we should get a chance to re-customize our chars, on account that now we really had no much to choose from, and alot of ppl look all the same....

you are incorrect. in a much later patch they will give you the option to change skin color in beauty shop, which would make you a dark elf. The dark elf race however wont me limited to just mages.

Newbies have to pick same basic appearances as we did. Everyone would have to buy a beauty shop pass to have new appearance.

I personally like being a regular Elf, I would not want to be a Dark elf. But I still think it'd be a nice addition and like the person above I also believe it would be beauty shop.
