PVP: Kill the apprentice?

Ok so the last couple days i have seen shouts from someone holding an event called kill the apprentice or something close to this. And i know the person that is shouting is over lvl 100. So one day i do and watch bc i was curious, and what do i see i see like lots of high lvls killing little low lvl apprentices over and over. Idk if the app were ok with this but if not i am wonder why ppl think they need to go around and kill appentices?

one reason could be that some apps think its very funny to run around arresting random people, and NOTHING makes me madder than being arrested while not even fighting some one.

I know I am running around Arresting and Frosting my enemies and a few bystanders. But then again, I'm a lvl 66 Mage. Not necessarily "weak."

It's not fair to be discriminate to an entire class, even if you have a grudge against one or two or a few members of that class. It's especially not fair if you just picked one because you think they're weakest on average.

Thrakx, even if you're annoyed by the ones that do that, would you go on a rampage against every apprentice? Even those that aren't a high enough level to have Arrest?

Raem, Class vs. Xen isn't fair to the one class. And since the apps most likely aren't agreeing to being killed in an "event," it's not really possible to label this situation that way. Nor should it be.

the shout was just from a few people who wanted to have fun picking on low lvls and used a yellow egg to shout about it.. thats all it is, it just happened to be apps this time. It's not so much of an event. Not so special either :S

but seriously, alot of 100+ ppl pick on everyone, not just apps, if u guys dont like it, dont go to the pvp arena lol. You cant call it harassment if you're standing around in the arena knowing you can be killed by anyone as they please

If they continue to do it, I blindside them and kill them. I do this on all classes. Personally, I don't like Pvp that much. Yes, its fun to test your skills against someone, hang around and chat, and there is the random cane fights now and then. But 70% of the time some jerk comes in and tries to kill me, simply because I'm an easy target (even when I'm in a duel with someone!!). It's more of a nuisance than having fun.

I agree with this to an extent Foger. I'm glad you are the one making these posts as a member ofBAMF, as I am not sure how seriously I would take any others.

I agree with taking duels to other arenas, its a great idea, and I've done it myself a few times to get away from the constant mayhem of Free PVP. I encourage others who want an uninterrupted duel to do this, as it works rather well.

On the other hand (sorry for playing Devil's Advocate, it seems to come naturally to me), I will also contradict myself by saying: Do not let yourself be run out of the Free PVP because of a few certain individuals. I feel what you were saying, Foger (maybe you didnt MEAN it like this, but this is how I read it), was that if BAMF is in PVP, others have to go to other PVP arenas because they will be interrupted otherwise. As you will do as you please, with disregard to others.

I feel it would be wise to remind the higher level players that they do not OWN the arena, and because they choose to pound their chests and kill a few n00bs, does not mean they are the Lords of PVP. Yes, BAMF has been around a while (in one form or another), but it does not mean they own any section of the game. This also goes for any other guild out there, this is not me being self-righteous or talking down on anyone, this is simple fact, and simple respect.

And from the experiences of this old time player. A guild to touts their fame and forces their power onto others is not famous, that is INFAMY. A guild who is wise and uses their power to help others and does not force their playing style on others, now THAT is Fame. With all due respect, some guilds walk that fine line, often crossing it.

I don't know how say in proper way because my head is spinning after reading too many materials for tomorrow exam..

First off, the intention of my previous post is to encourage others to spend time in other arenas, not just in free arena.. Everybody is welcome to free arena but since it is open for everyone, players will come there and kill freely, NOT JUST BAMF members.. People often blame bamf even when we don't do anything wrong.. In the end, all the arguments will end up the same as before.. However, it is true that some of the members like to kill noobs and I nor anyone can stop them.. They are mature and grown up adults.. Even anyone not just them kill noobs as well..

Anyway, my point in previous post is actually to encourage others who wish to duel or to hang around to go to other arenas.. There are other ways to enjoy the arena.. Unfortunately, some like to enjoy by killing others.. We can blame anyone but everybody is different, everybody thinks different, everybody acts different, everybody is unique and we can't change them unless they want to change themselves..

They get mad when we arrest them because they can't move. Also there is no other way to get rid of it than either waiting for it to end, or having a lvl 61+ Magician use UnArrest on them. Other than that, they're screwed. XD

i was just suggesting a reason. I dont know why people kill apps. Its not me, nobody has ever even seen me in the Arena cause I dont even go there. Once the system gets fixed then i might start, i just dont want to now with all the drama. I just remember the one time i did pvp many many months ago and a certain app kept arresting me over and over and over. It was very frustrating and added to my opinion of not wanting to even try. That and the whole crazy higher lvls just KOSing over and over again.

The argument of arrest is a non-argument. Things just don't work that way.

The effect of arrest, like other skills, depends on the build, which is mostly limited by level. An apprentice of level 61-65 cannot arrest someone who is level 100+. Well, maybe after 50 tries with amplification or something. But generally speaking, it cannot be done.

Not to mention these apprentices probably don't even have arrest in the first place...

It is bully, that's what it is. Nothing more.

Actually I easily arrested tons of lvl 100+ players with an Amped Arrest. The only ones I had trouble with were Rogues and Sins. Dang their Enhance. DX

my best friend in real life is a lowly app and I will protect him with all i have! Unfortunatly he doesnt play much.....however it DOES leave me with a soft spot for apps. Thats why i'll let them leech off my AOE all they want unless im in an exp crunch and need to solo. Usually they are quite happy for the help and dont mind buying my pots!

I'm a mage now but i remember the first time I was in PvP in Closed Beta, and I hated it. In fact I didn't go to PvP for several months because of that experience. Yet now I hear people shouting out for high levels to kill defenseless (yeah pretty much :/ though healers do have slightly less def) little apprentices. I know I always hated when some lvl 70 came in and killed my lvl 30 app in one hit and I'm sure if it was "bully the neo" it would be the same story even thought they have a slightly higher defense. All in all, no one should bully any specific class or even anyone for that matter. It only goes to further the decay of the community that we have worked so hard to establish. Oh and by the way I know the person responsible for this event. I don't know whether or not I can say his name here though. I'll give you a clue though: he's lvl 100+ and his class is Priest. Also, If i hear "bully the app" again in-game, I'm going to go to PvP and bust some heads! (and arrest the ppl responsible) I may also call in a GM if I feel that is necessary. I don't like seeing lower lvls victimized simply because they lvl slowly or just joined the game recently. If the person did bad things to you and you want revenge, well that's a different matter. All I'm saying is that picking on someone defensless and new is despicable and only proves that you are a jerk, not a gloriuosly powerful person.

Getting revenge at one person is not the same as a repeated event of "Bully the App" and, in my opinion, is inexcusable. So you killed the one app multiple times. Why is it that now you and other people are searching for and attacking apprentices on sight, and why have I still seen shouts for "Bully the App has now begun!" more than a week after the original shout?

Yea....I know that guys....don't worry...he kills acos and clerics to...and hes really fond of attempting to kill me....it usually works to...*mutters about clerics crappy def.*.....this will now change....due to me achieving howling but i hav a feeling hes gonna continue to do it anyway.....anyways.....i spirt him and he usually leaves me alone...unless im dueling then he helps kill me....*mutters appropriate name for him under her breath* .....but....hes not liked among the healing community so i just deal....^^

Considering the fact that Devi's right; all classes can be annoying. That's because it's not the class, it's the people behind the pixels that are colored to look like a specific class. I know some annoying scouts, neos, acos. I know some annoying squires. I know some annoying apps. Don't pick on JUST the apps just because we're "easy."

Ppl, at least 100 of my losses came from Acos/Clerics/Priests. They can stand for themselves. They got Ghost Steal and Oblivion. No need for protection.

not many that i would be able to kill in a fair duel
since theyre 2 high or.. too low and are new to
the game and just wandered in pvp
but yea im targeted by most of the KOSrs because
i die fast and really have no other usefull skill thats not

scouts like to pick on fighters because we are useless against them and sins are basicly untouchable then fighting fighters 10 lvls lower than them so they pick on us too

appys are actually nice unless you start a conflict with them, i never attacked an appy unless they just begin to spam magic fire and using dot on me

i have to aggree on the aggro 'rogue/sin' thing, ive only been attacked once by an app, and countless mages/archers have saved me with arrest/stone edge when ive been attacked ><;;

As former record holdr fr most PvP losses I'd say everyone is right.
1: Kill the App= Class Discrimination
2: Apps are squishy
3: How dare Xenains Stay Xenians !!!! >: O

not sure who said it in the earlier post but, you cant claim discrimination or harrassment if you are making the choice to be there knowing full well that BAMF or myself will attack randomly and for no reason. Thats like walking into the most heavily crime infested area of the world and crying because some acousted you. I mean come on. I understand that children play this game and might not be on the same wave length as adults. I also understand that everyone wants to enjoy the game. So do I, but people are wanting the privilege of seeing the battle up close and personal but they dont want the risk that goes with it.

Oddly enough I killed the priest who shouted for kill the app in fact i killed him like 5 times. So what hes 100+ he dies he kills life goes on. He doesnt take it personal, but all i see on here are people taking a death in pvp as if you died in real life. Its a game and if you dont like the conditions of the 'free pvp arena' then remember you have 2 other arenas to choose from and the biggest one of all. You made the choice to enter the free arena knowing what the risk is. And speaking about crying in pvp Everyone complains about not getting fair fights that higher levels kill lower (yes it happens) but yesterday i killed a mage with my scout whos 63 and the mage was 66 scout prevailed and the mage then decided to get on his archer 100+ to exact revenge and complained that i killed his mage. So i ask the community you cry and complain when a higher level kills you you cry and complain when an equal or lower level kills you. If a higher level Equal level or lower level is not allowed to kill you then who can? Once again wanting to witness the glory of battle without the risk. Flame all you want I will continue to Player vs Player until its removed from this game or i quit. For the record I will start taking screenshots of all the people who call me those foul offensive names and i will report you for chat abuse. You have been Warned

~PvP is for fun and dying isn't so bad anyways lmao... Gives us some motivation to keep leveling up even though the exp sucks soooo bad at higher lvls.
