Why does my character show streams of light going up around it.

This is a feature to indicate that you are a Master of a Guild. But only you can see it..and I believe only members of your guild can as well.

Are you a Guild or Academy Master? With the last update, they added those glowing beams for you and the academy members to see. Its a way to identify each other.

It means you are a guild academy master and only your academy students can see ur glowing

I just created a guild but there are no members or acadamy members, does this mean that: A. only acadamy members can see it, B. Guild members can see it, C. Acadamy and guild members can see it. Also does this mean that all other guild members will show these things or just the masters

You are all correct only the master glows and only guildies see the glow to know who's boss, its kinda cool really 'follow the leader' is easier when its the 'glowy guy/gal' over there lol

i think its only academy master... i own a couple guilds and was given a guild resently and i don't glow on that one but glow on the other ones.

Yes,
you are correct that only the academy guild master will have this special glow. By default the original player who created the guild and became the guild master is also the academy guild master but there is an option for the guild master to transfer the abilities of academy guild master to another guild member. The glow is kinda cool except when you are trying to take screenies and time it when the glow effect is not pulsing then it is sorta an inconvenience in that situation.

Only you (the guild academy master) and your guild academy members can see it.

I am the master of a Guild, but I have not created an Academy, and I have this light effect.

So I do believe it is for both Guild and Academy Master. And the only people who can see it are the people who belong to the Guild/Academy, and the Master.

I dont think that you need to create an accadamy, You get an accadamy when you make a guild, you just dont have any accadamy members. If I am wrong (and I probably am) can someone tell me how to create an accadamy? I have checked with the guild manager and there is no Create Accadamy option.Also I can edit the guild accadamy notice, though I haven't looked in the guild accadamy list (Enroll button) there are just too many.

The academy automatically exist if the guild exist. Only the academy member and the academy master can see the grow. When not assigned, the guild master is the academy master.

ok i think i can clarify this xD ... im the guild master of my guild and i had this light.. i didn't like this light o.o .. so i right clicked one of my trusted admins who liked the light... and gave them master rights of the academy (which btw is automatically there whether you have members in it or not you do not create an academy..it already exists in every guild) ..now i dont glow but i'm STILL the guild master of my guild..but my trusted admin DOES glow because she is master of the ACADEMY of my guild! .. (you can see whos master of the academy by pressing the "guild academy" tab in the Community menu.. it says it says "Master: *insert name here*"

in conclusion o.o ...if you are master of the guild you are automatically master of the academy and you glow.. BUT you can pass on master rights of the academy (while staying master of the guild itself) and then that person will glow and you wont :P

and btw..the whole guild/academy can see the glow..but its more visible in dungeons/abyss's/dark places etc.
