I know that end free stat adds 5hp .1%block .5def up to 50 and then block rate decreases, but what I want to know is how the defense works from the freestat. Does it work exactly like the armor stat does, or does it directly reduce 1 damage for every 2 points of end?
If it doesn't, then I think I might just switch to playing my pure strength fighter...As I don't see it being worth using a pure end if it doesn't reduce more damage than normal defense.

I believe that the end free stat points are flat end rates, similar to the str free stat points.
For every 2 points put in, you get a flat 1 def bonus. This means that there will always be 1 less point of damage taken. So a +30 end would be 15 damage reduced all the time.
I'm not totally sure on this though, if anyone else can correct me, please do.

that is correct, end points are the only variables that can reduce free str stats.
