I am currently in the state of downloading this game and was wondering if a guild would suggest a server and would be interested in taking someone under their wing ;)

I'm pretty sure there is only one server in SoS.
There was only one when I played at least.

yup what they said there is onli the Adeline server currently for SoS.
also as for finding a guild i doubt many will take you in, most guilds onli recruit players over lvl 40 - 50.
there are certain guilds that have no lvl requirements, but i suggest searching forums for those with no lvl requirement to help with this process.

My personal suggestion would be as follows, in chronological order. (I don't know how long each of these would take you, but it depends on things like your experience in MMOs and how quickly you adapt to a new game.)
1. Become accustomed to basic gameplay (i.e. learning the locations of important places and NPCs, the basics of combat, game mechanics, and so forth...this takes different people a different amount of time).
2. Decide what path you'll take for your character; your first class change comes at level 16. Each has their merits and flaws and you'll definitely want to investigate before you pick as your choices become limited after 1st class. (In fact, Squires and Apprentices don't even have branch classes, so you'll be sticking with the same concept throughout your character's life.)
3. Once you've picked your class, get used to your new skill set and the nuances of your class...each class fights differently and uses different strategies to get by, so get a good handle on those.
4. Now it's time to gain some levels. Some guilds have no level requirement, but nearly all that do have requirements of at least level 40. Some guild leaders will bend the rule for the right candidate, but being that right candidate usually means you must have a solid command on playing the game and your class.
5. Take a break from leveling for a few and talk to someone about what being in a guild is all about. It's so much more than having a spiffy logo next to your name, and explaining it all here would take me a long time. (Always talk to people when you're investigating something...Solstice is such a cool community and lots of people are willing to help.)
6. Cruise the forums for a guild that works for you. Some guilds have themes, class requirements, or a prerequisite of being a friend of a guild member, whereas some simply have level and activity requirements, some have tithes...but any of them could be a potential fit, so browse around and talk to people.
7. Once you've chosen a good guild whose requirements you meet, apply for membership and you may well be accepted! Now you'll be in constant touch with a lot of people who will get along well with you. Enjoy the game!
I hope this helps. Good luck out there!

Awesome, healers can branch off into the Templar classes starting with Disciple at level 45. AND they're popular. Good job.
