Well I would ask every type of video game on here, but since the gms took down teh main off-topic fourms (which I dont no why ><), I'm asking here about RPG and adventure games, in Project Powder fourms about sports games, and in Blackshot fourms about FPS games. Most of you probably don't know me (since I never visit these fourms), but oh well, I got bored and wanted to post this. :p Now, will RPG and adventure games ever die? Probably no. RPGs are probably the most addicting and time consuming games. People spend hours playing that one game, and they never stop. RPGs would be the last type of game to lose its luster. So what do you guys think? Yes or no?

EDIT: Wewps forgot to make it public. o.o

I remember you from ProPow, then it got boring.

And IMHO I hope they die eventually, cause if they dont die anytime soon, I may have to drop out of school >.>

They don't look like RPG games will die anytime soon, as long as people like to escape the stresses of life and escape into a magical RPG where (Corny time 0.o) All Their Dreams Can Come True~~ :D

Probably yes.
Maybe one day the real world will be more fun than the virtual...who knows...

hemmes it's cool that you think the real world might one day triumph again over electronics. Who knows maybe one day they will, no one can say for sure what the future holds but they way situations are going at the moment I don't feel they will.

The way things are going electronic things are just advancing and advancing. And if mmorpgs, adventure games an so on do die, it will only be because some other thing pertaining to electronics will take over.

In my grandmother's days people had fun by playing in the streets with their friends, slowly slowly that started decreasing. Now most people have fun playing with their electronic gadgets. Unless something goes wrong and everyone is forced to regress, maybe due to some huge economic distater or somewhat I think electronics will keep progressing.

Where as before people would sit around a table playing a board game, now people sit infront of their pc's playing with people they can't see. It's good because you are being connected to people with different walks of life and it is definately broadening our horizons. But at the same time, in some instances, people are getting detached from true face to face human contact and this is definately a draw back. Like everything it has its negatives and positive aspects.

It's a case of controlling the desire to play all day, which is definately hard cause games are so much fun, and mmorpgs are so addictive. But I hope they don't go, I must admit they are very enjoyable and I do look forward to playing.

Yeah I know lol, the first post you post, gives you a total posts of 0 not 1 :S I can't understand that.

In what way losing money? There are quite a few online games which are free. Then it is up to you how much you want to spend, for instance in this case how much you spend on sparkcash. Sorry if I misunderstood you and you were reffering to money in another instance ^^

I think what i meant when i wrote it (lol) is that some people have lost all perspective. So when they lose their money they have to start thinking about what life is truely all about. They will have to go back to the old values like going to visit friends and family instead of virtually contacting them. They might go out for a walk instead of looking for expensive new hobby's or gadgets (or games).

My believe is that life is about experiencing special things. Whether that is in a social situation, by seeing rare cultural sites or by appreciating nature. Appreciating generally. Most people just dont see what they have, they arent able to be glad with what they have but rather be angry with what they dont.
Im sometimes bugged with the passive attitude of some people. Whining about what they want or dont have instead of setting goals and trying to get somewhere.

Msorry if this doesnt make sence, its difficult to put to words...definetaly in English ^_^

I hope the RPG's they don't die. Like a neutral country where you can meet the people from all over! Even though some people let it consume their life, it is allot of fun to interact with members of different countries. I only think that the games will get better in the future ^^
