About Abyss? (a question NOT a rant.)

I know everyone here is..... touchy about Abyss but I have a question.
I've read on here before that someone killing you in the Abyss over and over can get you banned (or whatever the GM's punishment is.)
But, with the recent Abyss changes, will a player still get punished for killing someone while they're killing monster?

Kind of depends how it's happening. If they're just sitting at the re-spawn spot killing you while you do nothing in return, is harrassment. Even more so if you ask them to stop.

If you are respawning and charging back for revenge and keep getting snuffed, I'd say no, you're asking for it.

From what people say and the responses from GM's, abyss is free game. There's no rules on killing (no matter how much it inconveniences you). However, other rules such as no bad language, is still enforced.

When you enter abyss you have to be aware that it is a PVP zone so yes, more than likely you will die. Especially if someone higher level than you attacks you. Or even worse when a party decides to kill someone who is soloing.

But OS does NOT tolerate bullying. If someone is harassing you and calling you names or saying something like "I won't stop killing you noob so *insert some bad words in here*"... that is something you should take a screenshot of and report

Something I noticed with some pkers in abyss: Sometimes they will block the portal guard by standing inside them and then keep killing lower level players who can't leave abyss.

Is this harassment?

I chased out three lvl6x players from lvl5x abyss that were trying to spawn kill there.

I really wish the report button would come back..

I think YES, I would class this as harassment. It happend recently to one of my in game friends who's computer, not being the latest machine on the market, takes time to process the game & appear on their screen. By the time they saw themselves respawning at the gate they were already dead having been killed once again. This meant in essence it was impossible for them to LEAVE THE AREA. All they could do was log off & hope the idiots left. A little unfair really as they have as much right as everyone else to leave the pvp area but weren't being allowed to do so. This situation has been made even worse by the fact you can no longer use RETURN SCROLLS in those areas.

That we can & have to accept. What is TOTALLY unacceptable is not allowing players to leave the PVP area when they want to & have every right to. Maybe the cooldown time with the respawn stopping you from being attacked by another player should be increased to give players with less 'souped up' machines the time to get out.

If you ask them to stop and they repeatedly kill you that is considered harassment.

Abys is supposed to be a pvp area yes, but if they are doing what is stated here, it is against the ToS and not what the area was created for.

I enjoy dueling from time to time, but spawn killing takes no skill and is despicable.

For everyone else who is having a problem being spawn killed in abyss: Don't respawn immediately. Try to wait till the person has walked a distance away from where you will spawn or if they are attacking someone else. Then spawn and leave the area.

Yes I like that idea. Expecially when the killer is finally killed by group effort, he have to go through the gate and receive the other side of treatment what he have done to people. Being attacked while still in immobile state.

Every single town in Isya, except perhaps the one in Burning Rock, has a pvp zone. EVERY ONE! It is therefor TOTALLY UNNECESSARY to have abyss be a pvp zone as well. It just leaves the door open to bullying. Since we all know there are pvp zones in every single town, (except BR), we USED to have the choice of going into these zones where the game play was attack each other or stand there and be killed, or avoid those areas and go to abyss instead. Those of us who did not want to fight pvp would instead grind for mats and exp in abyss and have a really fine time, avoiding those who had a need to kill others. Yes, there were always a few who would go into abyss, which was a pvp zone then and now, and would try to make life misery for those grinding there, but never as awful as it is now. Now we are limited severely in our choices to playing only in the field or perhaps in dungeons because there is ALWAYS someone who thinks spoiling the play for others is fun. PVP IN ABYSS IS REDUNDANT and UNNECESSARY!

It is also DISCRIMINATORY against those who wish to be able play peacefully.

WHAT ARE WE TEACHING OUR YOUTH WITH THIS? Unfairness is cool? Murder is cool? Beating up and killing the helpless is cool? Anarchy is the way it should be everywhere? Life is anything goes and it's OK to be a bully and never have any concern for the feelings or needs of others? No wonder the world is in the shape it's in, even in a game.
