Dance Dance Fiesta Season 1 (http://events.outspark.com/2008/dancedancefiesta/) recently ended and we want to take one more opportunity to thank the player community for their support and participation! We received some great video submissions and look forward to hosting Season 2 in the near future!

The three winners of the Dance Dance Fiesta Season 1 event were Mewaki, Volaren and Shapes, each from the Epith server. Please join us once again in congratulating these talented filmmakers! We asked each of the players a few questions about their work and are pleased to share the answers with you.

*NOTE: Some player interviews have been edited to correct spelling and/or grammar. All effort was made to preserve the perceived original intent of the answers.

Grand Prize: Mewaki

1. How old are you and where are you from?
I live in the wild woods living off donuts 1 by 1! lol Nah, I am really 18 years old. I am originally from Japan (Okinawa) but I moved to the United States when I was 4 so I grew up here in America, specifically South Carolina.

2. How did you find out about Dance Dance Fiesta?
Well the DDF announcement was on the first page lol. I always check for any updates Fiesta comes out with.

3. What made you want to enter the contest?
It seemed fun and challenging, and I always love to make Fiesta fan videos. I'm still working on more video projects at the moment. You can find my older videos on my YouTube page Mewaki, but my newer videos will be uploaded on Censtudios YouYube page xD.

4. How did you select the music featured in your video?
Well I was actually just browsing random songs when I came to Coconut by Smile Dk. I thought it was fun and exciting.

5. What were the most challenging and/or fun parts of making your video?
LOL well... I had tons of challenges. The main problem was keeping Lutorianne (my second camera) alive from King Crab who kept spawning and 1 hitting Lutorianne. I'd film and all of a sudden Lutorianne falls over which made us all burst out laughing when it first happened. The next challenge was keeping lower levels from entering the shots by asking them nicely and buffing them. The final challenge was having everyone on at the same time. Although it was hard keeping my characters hidden behind trees, rocks and statues to film, the video turned out well.

6. If you want to share any additional thoughts with the Fiesta community, please do so here.
I would first like to thank my guild who are like a family, KennysAngels, for helping me ([GM]Kenny FTW!)! I love my hubby, SexyXxXSailor. I hope you win 08' CL vivianne! Yuffie_Mikato, hurry up with those levels lol. ShadowSeer, you n00b. I wish you were in the video tenthalas D: and to Fayes, log on more! For my video fans, thank you for supporting me and thank you everyone who voted for me ^^! Lastly, and most important; I love... chicken.
End of transmission. ;O

Second Place: Volaren

1. How old are you and where are you from (country, city/state, etc.)?
I'm 25 years old now and from Indonesia.

2. How did you find out about Dance Dance Fiesta?
From the ingame announcement and finding one of my friends doing it.

3. What made you want to enter the contest?
Aside from the very irresistible prize, it’s super fun. I really enjoyed making the video.

4. How did you select the music featured in your video?
I had many candidates for the song that I wanted to use for the video, but decided on one with perfect rhythm synchronization with the dance.

5. What were the most challenging and/or fun parts of making your video?
The first one is directing people. I really feel like doing real life directing. How’s their position, blocking the camera or not, what dance, who has unsynchronized timing, etc. I even use commands like "camera roll… action!", "cut!", and "it's a wrap!" I really felt like a movie maker when doing that; it was very fun and addicting and I want to do that again XD.

The second is the editing part; it’s really fun adding pieces by pieces of stock video to fit the songs and building the whole mood of the music clip. I tried not to use too many special effects since the basic way to enjoy a music clip is the synchronization between the video and the music IMHO.

6. If you want to share any additional thoughts with the Fiesta community, please do so here.
On the second page of the contest I thought I would not win cuz there was no vote button for staff faves in my browser. I’m like “oooh, it’s just for the fan faves, I did not even vote for myself XD (I voted for Mewaki).” But aside from the feeling that I wanted to win, I’m still happy that making the video was really fun and enjoyable. That’s the point I want to say. Do it and enjoy it! Making the video itself is a prize for me ^_^

Thank you to everybody who participated in this contest, helped me in making my video, voted for me, commented, enjoyed my video or just watched it. The best feeling of making something is knowing that it was viewed and hopefully enjoyed by others.

Third Place: Shapes (Spark ID: Memorials)

1. How old are you and where are you from (country, city/state, etc.)?

2. How did you find out about Dance Dance Fiesta?
Lol well I have a habit of reading all the announcements in the launcher before logging in,
So that's where I found out about it ^^

3. What made you want to enter the contest?
There was already a few movies uploaded and they were so cool! Very inspiring. So I wanted to do it for a while and I finally egged myself to do it and just for the fun of it =D >xD

4. How did you select the music featured in your video?
Heh… as usual I was listening to 587 songs, I know I have a small list Dx on repeat, and my song just popped up and I was like omg I should use this song. =3

5. What were the most challenging and/or fun parts of making your video?
Lol! The most fun part was dancing with randoms, it was challenging to find heaps of people to dance with in sync at the same time =o,

6. If you want to share any additional thoughts with the Fiesta community, please do so here.
Participating in this competition was so fun! So I want to wish everyone to just have fun and enjoy Fiesta.^o^.
