Yeah i know that some of us missed the reputation box.
Some others just dont care.The point is that when you see that ppl is reping you,then you know that you are usefull and you try more and more to get more green boxes^^ and this makes you even better.

I kind of miss it. I enjoyed watching those boxes multiply. Although I could live without the - rep spamming issues. Some people have nothing better to do than try and ruin people's days

I think he meant it felt nice to see that his kindness was being appreciated.The boxes showed him how many people he had helped and that appreciated this gesture from him. I don't think its about a reward at all. simply knowing you are appreciated.

I had 4k+ rep, all of it hard-earned. But it was abused too much. It's gone, so there's no reason to cry over it. Maybe one day, if we deserve it, we can possibly get it back.

By removing this system and all of the reports of abuse that came with it, it has quickened Outspark's response time to more important issues. So I seriously doubt they will put it back in place.

The rep system created far more drama than the use it was intended for. That is the reason why it was taken away. The negatives outweighed the positives.

But who knows, maybe they will put in a different type of reward system that would warrant less abuse. But I do not think they will put back the old rep system.

That was exactly the problem, people begging for rep, always hated that...and off course the getting worked up over getting neg-rep. I like it better now.

I feel, if you appreciate someone posts, or feel that that person's post is useful, just thank the person via private message, to show you appreciate. I have seen a few people, who have been flaming another player, breaking forums rules, and they are those with quite a number of "reputable green boxes" Abused much?

The rep system can also be biased. Let say... You saw a good friend's post, you + rep it, whether or not it's helpful. Cause, that person is your friend. As the time goes, the rep will accumulate... you get the idea. ^^

I like DBK's Siggy. he says something like,
"Helping people is good enough for me, there is no need to +rep."

Even with that for some reason people still +repped me >.> and honestly, the reputation boxes were nothing more than images. I'm assuming though that the topic is pretty much dead so i will leave and let it rest in peace.

Honestly, a lot of those who had a fat green bar didn't even deserve half the rep they received. If you really want it go make your own forum and spam rep yourself and admire that green bar.

If Outspark no longer wants a Reputation System on their Forums, that is their choice to make. It's only going to benefit the community in the long run.

unfortunatly, ppl tend to abuse systems whenever they can, and in many way, especially when they can "fight" each others. Ehence why many nice stuffs never work.

Take another sample: The in game Party Matching system, it is full of announces for selling or buying items and nothing else. Another great tool that went to the toilets.

Well... that is a green box below your location. If you rep somebody you will get more rep points and first you have 1 green box.
With 100 rep points you will get the next green box and so on till your reach the 5th green box. Then you need 200 rep points to get the next box.

It is soooooo cool and I think outspark should make them again.

I'm glad it's gone, prevent's abuse of the system. Abusers here can be abusers in life and who knows what they say behind the scenes. Along with the rep comes a bad message from the repper "GTFO Troll" was one...read that in your options box (I have been a victim of this) And from one person who "misses my rep points"
I beleive what the Outspark Mgmt says if it affected me I'm sure there were hundreds of accounts of abuse of the system, Thank GOD a few days later it was gone!

Being spoken to in such a way IS abuse and IF you don't know that then you may need look inside yourself a little deeper...and someone who values others opionions so closely really needs a realty check the world does not revolve around you, you live within.
