I was helping a friend and his friend level up in the abyss when other people entered the room. My party told them politely to leave, and they rudely refused. They said it was either we share the room, or they kill us. I decided to go with the flow. I pulled some mobs and everything was fine and dandy until I realized that they were pulling over half the mobs in the room, leaving my party only 10-15 which we were definitely more capable of. I then decided to kill them. My party consisted of a lvl 52 fighter, a lvl 62 mage and myself, a lvl 72 cleric. I tried to convince my party not to kill them while they were mobbing since it's terribly rude, but they did anyway. We ended up killing the three of them (they were all lvl 6x). Meanwhile, we had also recruited 2 other lvl 6x clerics and were aoeing the whole room with ease, and they came back loaded with buffs and attempted to kill us while we were mobbing. They were unsuccessful and we rejoiced and continued mobbing. During this time, I did nothing but heal my party because a) I was lazy b) I don't do hardly any damage so I don't see the point and c) because I was lagging due to my mom's utorrent stealing the internet. We didn't really expect them to come back, but when they did, they brought a couple of higher lvl people and all of them were loaded with buffs from what I could tell. Well, they obviously killed us all. None of us were buffed to the max, and I only had my normal cleric buffs on. I don't have blessing of teva, but I didn't really care that I lost my experience. What I found funny though was that, once they defeated everyone in my party except for me, they teamed up on me and it still took them a couple minutes to kill me, in which I had the slightest bang of lag in the wrong time. It took a couple DDs and a few tanks just to bring me down. I didn't even bother attacking them while they did this because I knew I could barely make a dent in them considering all their buffs and also because I didn't feel the need to. Even though I lost the battle, I feel proud that my cleric is more capable than I thought it was. So, in that sense, I thank the people who kicked my butt xD

Disregarding the facts that you're technically not supposed to spot-claim and that everyone involved in this episode is apparently incapable of sharing, civility, and/or common sense...you're proud that your cleric can take a beating? Pardon my candor, but how is this in any way remarkable? Clerics are made to be able to withstand a lot of damage before they fall.

Not really trying to be rude here; I just don't see what the big deal is.

I'm not trying to prove any point. I'm just finding something to gloat about in my loss, like other players should try to do instead of getting mad. I'm sure lots of people here have dealt with the same thing before.

Do you new people learn nothing ? its not spot claiming its your already there so they shouldn't attack your mobs if you leave then its perfectly acceptable for a party to come in an take it but if there is already a party there you do not try and take it ><. When will noobs learn

Fair enough.

The OP never said that the new party just rushed in and started helping themselves to mobs. The OP said that he told them to leave as soon as they entered the room. Doesn't this give the impression that he was laying claim to the room, however politely?
