Hello All!

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I'm doing my best to read up on all of the helpful hints scattered throughout the forum but I keep getting tripped up on some of the lingo. Some things like "grinding" in reference to KQs and "Gm" (though now I'm pretty sure I know that means Gamemaster). There's other stuff too, but unfortunately I'm strapped for time and can't list them all.

If anyone has some they remember being caught on could you give me a hand? Just a general description will do. Thanks for any and all help

Pretty much the same as any MMO...
You were right with GM being "Game master", but here's what I can clear up.
KQ = Kingdom Quest. A style of quest which occurs in certain time blocks, usually with other groups of players.
Grinding = Taking time to kill monster mobs for the purpose of levelling your character.
Farming = Much like above, but instead for getting the items they drop.
Spamming = Shouting too much.
Rez = Ressurect
LFG = Looking for Group. An open party request.

PT is party, though for some reason I have always been against that abbreviation. It's so lame to abbreviate a 5 letter word, hah.
And if you didn't know, MMORPG stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. It's any game you play online with other people, rather than like the games you play 1 player/without internet on consoles.

LFG is looking for group while LFP is looking for party. Basically the same thing.

A GM is a game master in reference to the GMs who moderate the game, while GM is also guild master when reference to.. just that. But that is rarely used, I think.

RMT = GS. Real Money Trade, Gil/Gold Seller. They are also gold spammers.
Bots are people who use scripts and programs to automate their characters while they are away.

That's all I can think of atm. lols

This is basic MMO lingo - since this seems to be your first MMO, I'll give you the bulk.

People also seem to call Rez by Rev as well, which is at least closer to the actual spell (being Revive).

Grinding is killing non-stop in a group focused on leveling. You really don't take time to rest when grinding, you burn through pots, stones, whatever and get xp as fast as possible.

Farming, just as the other person said, is killing certain mobs over and over again for hours to get items they drop such as materials or green weapons/armors.

Pots, quite obviously, mean potions.

Aggro, basically when you have the enemy mob attacking you from taunting it, damaging it, or over-healing to much. Aggressive mobs aggro on sight and chase you, for an example.

AoE or AE stands for Area of Effect attacks such as Magic Burst or Mock.

DoT stands for Damage Over Time. Spells such as poison and disease.

Mob (not sure if many use this in Fiesta besides me) but it stands for enemy or monster I guess. Not an actual mob (group).

Buff is a spell that increases your stats/attributes temporarily such as Endure or Protect.

Camping is a term where you stay in one spot waiting for a mob to spawn so you can kill it repeatedly, usually done when farming good items.

DPS stands for Damage Per Second. Used to figure out damage based on weapon speeds and such.

Kite is a term where you hit and run over and over until the mob is dead.

Instance is an area where only you and you're team can go. The only place in Fiesta like this are KQs as far as I know, but thought I'd toss the term out.

KS stands for Kill Stealing. Basically when someone attacks what you are and takes the xp/loot.

Loot stands for the items dropped by an enemy.

LD or DC means Link Dead or Disconnected. Basically cut from the server.

Ninja-Looting(er) means someone who takes loot as fast as it drops and doesn't share, especially bad if the party is on Free Allocation drop.

Pull is a term to have a ranged attacker to lure a mob towards the group to kill so you don't aggro more.

Zone would obviously mean an area that is loaded in-game.

Rushing/Zerging is basically running to a certain point or mob without fighting anything else. Zerging more specifically when you all just attack a target without any fore-planning.

Plus/Plussed/Plussing refers to using Elures and other upgrade materials on an item. They are the shiny ones you see people holding. It is called plussed because it is +1-+9 ect. ect.

Uh, that's all for now. Most of it pertains to MMOs in general and since you didn't understand grinding I thought I'd give you a monster list of those MMO terms you'll hear in your online life.

Those are good Nerria ^^

Some of those I completely forgot about, just cause I'm so used to seeing/hearing/using the terms, they don't seem weird or out of place. xD;;;

*tears* Thank you all so much for the help! Really though, a lot of this stuff I was ignoring, thinking it was a typo or something, now I can read these posts with some literacy ^_^!
